I love The Doors. Amazing Band. They put out some great music in such a short period. But I think it's a little much saying Jim Morrison was the image of Rock and Roll. I wouldn't even call Lennon or Hendrix the image of Rock and Roll. In my opinion, no one is the face of Rock And Roll. Too many great ones.

But, I have no problem saying Elvis Presley is the King of Rock And Roll.

Let just say there are more images of rock 'n roll. From Lemmy to Lennon and from Morrison to unfortunately someone like Marilyn Manson. ;)

I just watched 'The Last 24: Jim Morrison' and thought it was interesting, in a sad sort of way. It's kinda irritating because every scene the narrator says something like "in the next ____ Jim Morrison will be dead" or something like that. Jim Morrison is the man. How can you not respect him?

    mr.mojo risin... keep on plagerisin!

haha i dig the doors but i think there is alot more to their tunes than just Jim. If it werent for Rays keys and writing, Robbies smooth licks, and Densmore doing the backbeat MrMojo would have just been another unpublished poet on the streets. I hardly agree with the assertion that Jim was destined for greatness, but I do agree the Doors managed to help him achieve it!

Im a doors lover, but not a worshipper!

I agree, they were a BAND. Not Jim Morrison&The Doors. Jim Morrison didn't want it to be like that anyway.

It's a wellknown fact he had abusive moods. That's probably what annoys me so much about people worshipping, most fanboys don't even know the real person who they so utterly respect.

    I agree with you Asmodean.

About drinking theme...it´s some medical (not only) theory which talks about feelings getting out when you´re drunken. If you have kindness inside you will be probably cute gleeful downer (like Janis Joplin was) and when you have some sick personality you will be probably idiot also after drinking. When people are assertivenes after drinking it´s because they are still, not because it´s fault of alcohol. Alcohol just releases what you have inside.

So the alcohol isn´t excuse even for Jim Morrison.

well i wasnt talking or thinking at the moment i guess that i worship jim but i do think that everybody should learn something from the doors cuz they all made the music work and that the doors should be remembered for their contribution to music and not just the beatles, elvis, micheal, buddy, and all the others they made just as much a contribution as all the others and i gotta say this...other voices and full circle by the doors sound really damn good without jim lol just saying...

I know people who are real happy and chill people to hangout with when their not drunk but go insane almost when drunk. Alcohol is a depressant. I bet the same people that have trouble with alcohol are just fine when smokin a jay

People get violent from weed too, Jim had a history of abusive moods long before he became an alcoholic

    i love Jim also
People are strange when you're a stranger,
Faces look ugly when you're alone.
Women seem wicked when you're unwanted,
Streets are uneven when you're down.

Jim had great talent, although there was a dark side to his personality. He had troubles since his youth, and he used LSD to let the demons run wild, He was quoted saying that deep, dark voices he heard in his head wrote many of the Doors songs and much of his poetry. For example, When the Musics over was thought to be completely spoken by spirits coming out of Morrisons mouth. He was a Shaman. That is the only thing I am leary about Jim Morrison. Great poet though
