It is an education program put on by the department of labor. Kinda like a trade school. They pay you to attend, like $35 every two weeks, and you stay in a dorm and eat free food(if you can call it that). You choose a trade you want to learn, and you learn it. The trades they offer include: Business/clerical technologies, carpentry, cement, plaster, nursing, pharmacy technician, culinary skills, and a whole bunch of other shit. After you graduate and recieve your certification in your chosen field, they are SUPPOSED to find you a job, but they didn't find me one, probably because I was always in trouble and they wanted to get me out of there asap. Then they give you a $1200 check in the mail. You can also get your GED and your highschool diploma there in only a couple of months. You can get your driver's license too. I was only there for 5 months before I graduated, but my fiance, Kari, has been there for a year and some people have been there up to 2 years, which is when they kick you out.
ohhhhhh, sounds pretty alright to me man. I would do that, but I want to become a music producer, so I guess after highschool its off to college with me, which is alright, slong as I get to go to unc ashville
Yeah man the Job Corps I went to and the one that Pothead Pixie and Emo Bitch are at, is in Cherokee, NC. My roommate was from Durham.
Yeah man. Immaturity, at it's finest. And the place just makes most of them even worse; what, with all the drama and whatnot.
oh shit dude, that's phat. I might have to check that out wait topnotch whats this about immaturity, like how. Do they act like their in highschool or something?
Yeah man. The age range is 16-24, so some of them should still be in highschool. Plus, the fact that you can't leave campus will fuck with your head and make do/say some stupid shit. They could literally make a soap opera or a reality show just by filming the people at job corps.
hehehe job corps is kind of like the place i went to, i got kicked out sophmore year and i had to make up that shit during the summer, so i went to this little alternative school on this hill. It was a trip initself to say the least
Yeah I got kicked out my sophomore year too for smoking weed and having a concealed weapon. Then they sent me to an alternative night school for all of the delinquints. Then I got kicked out of there in the same semester.....again, for smoking weed. hahaha Then I got kicked out of the army for smokin weed, less than a year later. Fuck, man.
haha right on man, i had a couple of misdemeaners before and never got kicked out and then they busted me for selling and i was thrown out like a sack of bad lunch man, but you really get into your own groove when you dont go to school anymore in a way im glad
I know ive said this before, but you are THEE defintion of a true fucking STONER.(I dont like the term "pothead" or "pot", infact, I hate it) Anyways, after reading what everyone says about job corps, it seems fucking fun as hell. I WANT to go now.
hahaha yeah I don't like saying "pot" either. I don't mind "pothead" though, fo some reason. And job corps is shitty as hell man. I had plenty of fun there and met some cool as stoners, but if anyone should decide to go, don't expect it to get you a career started.
I hate it when people call weed Marijuana, unless we're joking and making fun of authority figures. I hate it man. If you want to sound proper, its cannabis. haha I love correcting my health teacher about everything about weed, we have some confidentiality thing here in the health class about drugs, so she cant tell anyone, so I dont give a shit.
Job Corps is straight as long as you dont stay here for a fuckin year like I have...but i have recieved my GED, my CNA license, and my driver's license and I am about to be home for good in less than two weeks...unfortunately, I dont know when the next time I see TopNotch will be...It is very discouraging but I will not lose hope...Job Corps can be fun at times though and there are quite a few people I am going to cry over when I leave.
Ahhh Job Corps...........can be a fun place, meet new people, some of wich are cool. Most the time it sucks tho, your stuck in a dorm with a bunch of 16 year old drama queens, the food really sucks, alot of people get sick within their first two or so weeks of being there just from all the different people and different germs floating around, student leaders are ridiculously power hungry and try to write you up for anything you do, and at the one i was at KP is mandatory no matter what trade your in. Luckily i finished trade just before i was supposed to do it. There is a bunch of other little shit that gets to you when your up there. I was lucky like TopNotch tho and was only there for a short time as i took the business tech trade aswell. It goes super fast.......but some of the people in computer networking were there for 2yrs then had to get like a 6 month extension (forgot what it was called) just to finish trade. I wouldn't really tell anyone to go there........college is better. Just don't get paid to go to college
