I love John and all the Beatles! I think all of their songs are great, but I think my favorite is 'In My Life', great track! My grandma was in London in the mid-60s with her boyfriend at the time, and they were taking a short cut down a side street, and they saw some stairs leading up to a building. There was four guys at the top walking down, and a limousine pulled up as my grandma was about to walk past. Her boyfriend said: "Oh god, that's not who I think it is is it?" Then John, Paul, Ringo and George all walked past them and said hello and got into the limo and drove off. They were too starstruck to get an autograph as it was the height of Beatlemania Imagine just seeing The Beatles down a little side street!
He ended up a bit sad really. I mean from when he met Yoko and started doing heroin and spouting his mouth off about politics. Has anyone else heard him bad mouthing most of the stuff he did with the Beatles...sometimes as he was making it. He was a v.strange guy not to appreciate what a great life he had. That's how it seems to me.
I idolize him more than I really should. I don't so much Idolize him for being a beatle as much as the peace activist. I would have done anything just to have a conversation. It's sad really how all the peaceful are killed.
John lennon is awesome my favourite song of his is working class hero https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njG7p6CSbCU"]YouTube - Working Class Hero - John Lennon
So what we talking about here folks The John Lennon Band {as known localy } :2thumbsup: John did break up the band ,, i think his timing was probably rite as well ,, they all moved on . But , George had amazing talent , and after staying with his friend Bob Dylan {at the Big Pink } and gaining confidence ,asked for a Band meeting at Abbey Road . were John let Yoko answer for him , George went mad and walked out and rightly so .69 End Of . But John did want to move on in other directions as well .. Heres some of George , A lovelyman and very Genuinly Spiritual . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ng511CKPt3w&playnext=1&list=PLA96F863BC5853340
I love the Beatles! Always have, since the night my girlfriends and I first watched them on Ed Sullivan. My father thought we were all nuts, and we probably were ... lol ... but it was such a momentous time. We knew at that moment that the world had somehow changed forever. We didn't realize that people would still be talking about the Beatles 50 years later, though!
:2thumbsup: And some people forget they were only together for 7 yrs. What a remarkable achievment :guitarist:
McCartney , A good quility show ,with the help of some good sound engineers . Please Please Me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MWVo1fjRsQ
John and paul were in a band together from '57 to 69...George joined them in 58 and Ringo in 62. In other words they were together a lot longer than 7 yrs. they only were recording for 7 yrs. though.
Hi , hope your ok bro , Yes John and Paul were doing charity gigs in 57 , they were the Quarymen ,, just a jam band playing Skiffle ,, then they done a bit of Rock n Roll ,Changed there name to the Silver Beatles ,, played localy under that name ,, then they got rid of some band members ,, contacted a lead guitarist who worked in Blacklers dept store whos name was George , then all took off to Glascow to gig under the name of the Beatles ,then all took off to Hamburg ,, . Iff it wasnt for Brian Epstien who owned a record shop in Liverpool , and was tipped off that a band from liverpool were playing in Hamburg and were worth a look at ,,, dont know what the outcome would have been with another manager .
There are some who would prefer to meet there most bitterest enemies on the field of battle , Than to meet there own hearts in a tiny room .
Watching and listening to this is just ... pure ... unadulterated ... JOY!!! Aren't we all lucky that John and Paul (and later George) just happened to meet all those years ago? Just try to imagine a world without the Beatles. No no no!!!! As I mentioned in an earlier post, I so vividly remember watching them on Ed Sullivan the first time. My father laughed at us, but it was an experience no one will ever forget.
Have any of you seen Rain? They are amazing! They've been playing since the 70's together...I saw them at the Majestic Theater in San Antonio....not the real thing of course, but they've played the Beatles jam's for like, 40yrs, they're amazing!
John Lennon is one of my many heroes, although I'm sure he wouldn't have approved being idolized. Can you imagine if everyone in the world has his mindset? It would be an amazing, peaceful world..
John Lennon.... My all time hero. Imagine, one song, has had such an impact on my life. The lyrics are just make me wanna slap everyone in the face and ask why aren't they listening?! How the world still hasnt found peace is beyond me.... But anyway, war is over, if you want it! Peace!
