joni mitchell is amazing! all of her songs are so unique...it's like she makes up her own tunings and her own chords and it comes together in the most amazing way...big yellow taxi, a case of you, both sides now, california, and woodstock are just some of my favorites. peace
I've been a joni mitchell fan since I was seven and my mom played on of her cd's in the car. I especially love her early work, in particular "Cactus Tree." A beautiful song about an uncatchable woman.
Thats so weird. Woodstock is probably the only Joni song that I can't bring myself to listen to. Knowing that she missed it and wrote the song after hearing how great the festival was breaks my heart.
I'm a ,assive joni mitchell fan but think i prefer the crosby, stills and nash version of woodstock. Has anyone heard laura marling you can hear alot of joni in here voice. www.myspace.com/lauramarling
i've loved joni for many years she is such an incredible poet, musician, artist. i love the csn&y version of woodstock...they really jam it out. however i prefer joni's version ...there is something about the end when she's just doot doot dooing...the yearning in her voice gives me goosebumps...it makes my heart ache for times gone by
Good point, did you have a listen to that laura Marling you can really hear abit of joni mitchell spirit in hear voice.
I love Joni Mitchell. Lately I've been listening to the "For the Roses" album. I'm liking the songs "Electricity" and "Cold Blue Steel"
come with me...i know the way...it's down down down the dark ladder check out miles of aisles..it has an excellent live version of cold blue steel and sweetfire. shanti
I fell in love with Joni Mitchell in 7th grade as an angsty (pre)teen and she definitely helped me through those years. Still love her. In my book, Miles of Isles (her live cd) is her very best work.
After i knew she wrote Woodstock i got "Blue" the album which is one of my favorite albums of all time. I like "All i want" and "California".
She was awesome until her voice went. Smoked from age 9 and it caught up w her. Too bad. Great genius tho.
don't it all to seem to go when you don't know what you've got till it's gone they paved paradise and put up a parking lot
