This has and will be more so, about the ability to sue somebody only if you know the actual identity of the person who defamated your character, and whether they defamated you personally, or your persona..

 

Bitch got 11 mil for being called a crook and a con artist? Hmmm.... You know, I'm tired of working. I wonder how much I could get for some of the accusations that have been thrown my way.

Either way it's petty bullshit. If I sued every person who ever falsely accused me of something or slandered my name, I'd have the profession of testifying in a court room. I mean seriously. Besides all of that, how does one justify the 11 million dollar settlement? If any one of you called me a con artist I highly doubt it'd cost me a million dollars in my lifetime, let alone eleven million.

I'd say if the woman who was awarded the money lost wages or could prove she lost social stature due to the remarks she's due something, but I highly doubt a woman wasting her day away posting on an internet message board needs to worry about losing out on one thousand dollars. Let alone, one million dollars.

 

Ok hypothetically "Insane Jestor" says something about me .... like I'm having an affair. My husband reads it, he divorces me.

How do I find "Insane Jestor" to sue his ass?

 

The IP address can be court ordered to be turned over. The IP address can then lead back to his real information as far as name and/or address and/or home phone.

 

and then we find out he is actually a 14 year old boy on a school computer!
