I got one earlier this year. When it was time to call to see if I had to go in it kept saying to call back the next day. Finally after like 5 times it said my group wasn't needed. JUst bring a playboy or a hustler magazine with you and theyll prolly send you home.
It’s been several years since I was called for Jury Duty. I was actually the foreman of the Jury on an assault & battery case. We found the defendant Not Guilty. I felt sorry for the victim who was thrown through a plate glass window and scarred for life, but both he and the defendant were dead drunk and there were no other witnesses to the crime. Hotwater
Pressed Rat, are you an impartial juror? Some people aren't. I would probably be a little bit left-leaning were I ever selected. Anyway. I haven't been called for jury duty in many years.
always been willing, never been practical for me to do so. the few times i've been called. only way anyone could get a hold of me now, is to send me an e-mail, which i might miss among all the requests for donations, or to actually physically, knock on my door.
Bad luck befalls. First an ex materializes after a couple months and now jury duty. Stranger things can happen, though, such as the ex being called to the same jury.
What do you mean left leaning? You know which way you'd go in advance? I would hope (and expect) to be a-political and decide my conclusion on that 'case' then and there.
What I mean is I think politics plays a role in our legal system, particularly on a jury. In certain cases in which there isn't a jury you'll hear that a certain judge was liberal or conservative. I guess I just thought that my particular leanings might play into my decision as a juror, and as such mine might be a left-leaning or more liberal tendency.
I would not decide on anything in advance if i got in such a situation. Unless of course if i would prefer not to do any juring at all.. But like i said I'm happy and thankful we don't have that system here. P.S. no worries: I'm aware I'm not Pressed Rat
It was years ago. I was not living in the state where I was called for jury duty at the time, so I didn't go, and there were no consequences to my knowledge. But who knows how deep the Tron's evil supercomputer's records go. I would love to serve on a jury if I had the time. That jury would be hung for fucking EVER though. Judges, courts probably couldn't handle it. Truth, justice, and the American way? Not bloody likely IMO but then I've never served on a jury.
I've never been called for jury duty yet. A friend of mine did once. It was weird because the defendant was someone I knew. But so far, I've been lucky. Now, if it was, like, the OJ trial or something, I'd actually want to be called.
They'll never call me because of my psychiatric history, for which I'm thankful. Not that I'm thankful for my psychiatric history...Never mind.
So I was put on an attempted murder case. A drive by shooting. The trial lasted four days. The guy in the passenger seat is the one I helped get convicted. Guilty on all counts: 2nd degree attempted murder, 1st degree attempted assault, and two counts of weapons charges. Such an upstanding guy this is. What's crazy is I cannot help but feel sad for this dumbass. He looked like a somewhat decent person in the courtroom. Well-dressed, no dreads, but you could still see the thug in him. Utter depravity. Sad such a young guy just pissed his life away over something so stupid... all because he lacks self-esteem as so many of these pathetic gang bangers do. Most of them were born to single mothers who never once showed them an ounce of love as their lives are a complete wreck. In a way it's hard to blame them for being the way they turned out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6n5PB9XDtw&feature=youtu.be
He won't be sentenced until, I believe, November 19th. I too am curious what his sentence will be. So what do you think of this guy? Would you date him?
