^ the machines at the bank are ok - unlike the 'coinstar' machines at supermarkets which take a commission. But I often do give money to homeless people. I don't really care if they spend it on drugs or alc - if I was homeless I'm sure I'd need something to help me through. People who have the 'I've worked all my life and why should I give money to you' attitude, are brainwashed morons in my opinion.
"God forbid you ever had to walk a mile in his shoes 'Cause then you really might know what it's like to sing the blues Then you really might know what it's like"
That shit is fucked up. I bet not that uncommon though. She just got caught on tape. The lot attendant even warned her that she was on cam. What a dumb ass. So the news is she's been suspended for 1 week after the video went viral. Basically, she gets a vacation while the video dies down.
This is a pet peeve of mine, frankly, when I see bedding left in doorways or in the park. Just fucking pick it up and take it to the rubbish bin after you are done with it, for fuck sake! There is no need to leave things lying around the city.
Wasn't this the song playing on that cops car stereo when he killed the black guy the other week? I tried to find that specific article, however I was stunned at HOW MANY articles I found with the headline "Cop kills black man". I guess it happens more often than I thought.
Fairly common attitude. If these so-called "elites" cared about the homeless (especially vets) or in this case , an actual working person,--there would be NO homeless. After all, your only REAL value as a human being is the amount of money you manage to accumulate, isn't it?
i know you're saying that as a sarcasm, but that's really the one thing i don't see eye to eye with america's dominant, so called free country. i could say, if its supposed to be free, how come its so damd expensive? but what i'm really getting at, is that to me, the ONLY value ANYone has, isn't what they have, it's HOW THEY ACT. absolutely doesn't make shit to me, what somebody else has, i mean, what's that to me anyway, or doesn't have for that matter. i mean if they have a place to take a bath that's cool. but how people act, that's what creates the kind of world we ALL have to live in. and that's why all this celebrity bullshit is nonsense to me too. that's why RESPONSIBLE parents try to teach their kids to be polite and considerate. it doesn't cost anything to do that. really. giving to beggers, that's an option of course, but universally mutual consideration, that's a matter of what kind of world, do we really want to live in.
i'm sure it sometimes works that way. on the other hand, i've given money to a homeless guy who then immediately broke into my car because by giving him money i had let him know that i had a little money.
Well, if that happened to me, I would be fucking infuriated and I wouldn't give money away to a homeless person for a long, long fucking time. And if I ever saw the guy again, I would probably yell. Maybe the woman on the street who was yelling at the guy actually gave him money at one point and then he went and broke into HER car? We'll never know why she was yelling. What I DO know, is that I did the right thing by giving him a two dollar coin and telling him he didn't deserve to be yelled at. Even if it was mostly the right thing for ME to do.
yeah, it was a few years after that before i gave anything else. never did see that one again. that neighborhood had several regulars, but there were also several passers through, and he was one of the latter.
In the spirit of SNL Mr. Subliminal Someone (a friend groveling at the feet of her queen) in Britt McHenry’s camp (entourage) said the video (damning) was not a true (accurate) portrayal of the events as they unfolded (liar) because the video was edited (shortened) which would portray Britt (entitled bitch) in a more positive light (it couldn't get any worse) and her 1 week suspension (vacation) was punishment enough (a tap on the wrist because she's hot) Hotwater
I'd rather give money to charities that help the homeless. The people who run them are not so easily taken in by scammers, and if someone truly needs substance abuse treatment, they can make the arrangements. Throwing cash at some people just makes their problems worse, even though you may feel better about yourself for a moment.
i have a little bit different perspective, having seen so called charities from both ends. a lot of them ARE scams. even big familiar household word ones, are to varying degrees. if you give a handful of spare change to someone directly, you see who you're giving it to. so maybe they'll go buy a beer with it. fine. so enjoy the beer. and if they tell me some good story, well thanks for the entertainment. at worst its no worse then the crap on tv. i'd rather do that, then see it go to some rich 'charity' ceo with a huge office staff of underpaid secritaries, using 'charity' as a cover for playing politics or making speculative investments with your donations, and spending only a tiny fraction of what they are given, to feed or house anyone, and that only to brainwash the homeless into saying yes to everything that is the real cause of keeping them that way.
Pretty much this. I've given money to a lady on the street once for "food" saw her a couple of hours later walking around with a cask of wine. I wasn't mad but felt a bit gullible. I just donate to charities now.
How exactly did it happen? Did he litterally run to your car and break into it as soon as you have him money, or did you return later to find your car broken into and the homeless guy gone?
