Don't get all self-righteous on me buddy, because your not exactly the most tolerant and just person by the sounds of it. To automatically assume that I'm trying to make excuses for what happened in the past by making a factual statement about the realities face by may ancestors is just plain absurd. Just about as absurd as trying to quantify suffering--ie., my native girlfriend's ancestors suffered more than your white European peasant ancestors. Honestly, your not going to accomplish anything with that kind of attitude. Incidently, I'm very well aware of what happened to the native people of North America, and I feel that much needs to be done to rectify problems that persist as a result of past wrongs. I feel this way because I feel that what happened was unjust and what continues to happen is unjust--oh, but I guess to you I'm just trying to exonerate myself and avoid the "payback" that I deserve for having European ancestry, right?
I am sorry, I said too much, and it was not the way I would have worded it if I hadn't been already riled up. You and I likely have more in common than not. I am no more righteous than anyone. And I am far more than tolerant, I am accepting, honest. the one topic that gets me going is racism, and I have been answering other posts today on it. Hope that I didnt get you pissed off, if so, my apologies. feliz navidad. joyeux noel sol natalis merry Christmas BG13
The uterune wall exudes a blood and mucous lining to prepare for pregnancyat each new cycle. This lining helps to nourish the fetus, and help the zygote attach to the wall, about 10 days after the egg and sperm join. When a pregnancy does not occur, the lining is shed. This usually happens, due to a complex dance of hormones, about 14 days after ovulation.
Alright alright, calm down people Personally I thought it was funny...I love her sense of humour. Yeah ok she takes it to the limit - that's what makes it funny instead of serious. And you know what? Some of what she says is true sometimes. (Keep in mind, before you all get angsty on me, that I speak only for myself!) I for one get really, really tired of guys making comments about women and their periods, and PMS (etc) when they don't know the first thing about it. I hate it when guys blame an upset woman on PMS and her cycle. I hate it when guys joke that women can't rule countries because they'll PMS and "push the button." I think it would be good for every man to at least have one period in their lives...just so they can see exactly what it entails. Yeah ok I know, not gonna happen. My point is, unfortunately there are a lot of guys who are really insensitive to these sorts of things, and sometimes it gets a little much. **now** I will also say, however, that some women take it too far. As much as I hate men saying "wow she must have her period" everytime they make a woman angry (hey guys, maybe it's just YOU!) it makes me more angry when a woman blows up and then says "it's not my fault, i have my period..." cos that just pushes it further. *sigh* Now i'm the one who hijacked the thread. Sorry. All I really wanted to say was that the joke is funny, it'd be cool if guys treated menstruation with respect instead of a mix of fear and disrespect, and that women need to chill out a little at the same time. Now as for blaming white people for slavery...folks, that's a different thread. In fact, that's probably a different forum!!
