a friend of mine has smoked mad amounts of various kinds of spice and goes into what some people would call seizures but what he calls being really fucking high. he's noticed that the high comes and goes and comes back sometimes, and that when its full-on he can't even crawl to the bathroom.

seeing as how all of you eventually came down without the help of meds or charcoal or anything i imagine y'all were just high beyond belief. remember, its not exactly pot and so it won't have the exact same effects. if you don't want to have that shit happen again, don't take so much.

edit: in his opinion this shit will get you higher than pot.

Well... there's a big difference between smoking the 99.7 % pure white glittery
powdered form of jwh-018 than smoking spice.

we smoke spice almost every day bowl after bowl... and we just get really high but thats no big deal.

there's quite a difference when your friend smokes a pure research chemical and starts 1. violently vomiting 2. urinating on themselves 3. shaking uncontrollably 4. loses feeling in legs/arms 5. becomes completely disoriented forgetting who they are

thats not just being really high. thats another level of some shit.

Softball, this is almost word for word the type of trainwreck trip I had courtesy of wayyyy too much DXM, booze, and a bunch of other things all at once.

People have later told me it was everything from me just psyching myself out to a five alarm panic/anxiety attack stacking itself on top of the drug.

yeah this was most definetely just a drug induced panic attack, you took a little too much. I took too much a couple times as well but I knew that it would pass and had sense enough to NOT go to the hospital lol

The OP said he had a three-fold increase in heart rate and a more recent poster wrote about irregular heart rate and a fairly profound level of disorientation. Both posters were absolutely right to go to the ER. The OP was also correct in taking the substance with him. This made the ER's task of accurate identification of the substance easier - not that it would be analyzed there, but that the package probably had name and formula.

It went something like this: "Oh good grief." the doctor says to a resident or nurse, "Look this up, will you please (shakes head). Jesus. What next." A few minutes later after getting a report on the substance and lack of fatalities, he or she makes the 38th judgment call of the night (it's early) and decides just to monitor the patient. At some point the doctor advises the patient to stick to marijuana.

Good calls all the way around by OP, other poster, and doctor.

every time my friend smokes a lot he gets a quicker heartbeat. its likely just a side-effect of the drug. cocaine and caffeine have a similar side-effect.

the packages don't say shit. at least not the ones around here.

you guys are overreacting. its a relatively new, experimental chemical. these things are going to happen.

All the symptoms that the OP mentioned all sound like a bad trip, it does make your heart rise some when you do a little too much but nothing to go to the hospital over, weed gives me the same feeling occasionally, idk i guess im just experienced enough to tell the difference between paranoia and reality..... this too shall pass

I've taken very high doses of JWH-018 and never had any problem with it. in fact I find weed gives me anxiety nowdays and I don't enjoy it much without benzos but JWH-018 never gave me any fear or paranoia at all. THat sounds like a ridiculous reaction, especially at 5mg oral. 5mg is a good vaporized dose, but oral doses are better at 10+mg.
I never had an accurate enough scale, but I eyeballed vaped doses and dosed 10+mg when I started to get a tolerance and ate a lot more. It never seemed too powerful. I'm not quite sure what it was like but when I was completely blacked out on a pile of benzos, barbituates and such I drunkenly ate/vaped the rest of my vial of jwh which should've been like 100mg or more and I'm pretty sure I didn't die or anything. I don't really remember what it was like though.
Also I'm sure it's been said but I'm too stoned to read through long threadsasa but dont ruin rcs for everyonee

naphthalene is a component Of these synth dopes.. dont be a dope smoke real grass.. [IMG]

Exposure to large amounts of naphthalene may damage or destroy red blood cells. Humans, particularly children, have developed this condition, known as hemolytic anemia, after ingesting mothballs or deodorant blocks containing naphthalene. Symptoms include fatigue, lack of appetite, restlessness, and pale skin. Exposure to large amounts of naphthalene may cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, blood in the urine, and jaundice (yellow coloration of the skin).[citation needed]
When the U.S. National Toxicology Program exposed male and female rats and mice to naphthalene vapors on weekdays for two years,[9] male and female rats exhibited evidence of carcinogenic activity based on increased incidences of adenoma and neuroblastoma of the nose, female mice exhibited some evidence of carcinogenic activity based on increased incidences of alveolar and bronchiolar adenomas of the lung, and male mice exhibited no evidence of carcinogenic activity.
The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC)[10] classifies naphthalene as possibly carcinogenic to humans and animals [Group 2B]. The IARC also points out that acute exposure causes cataracts in humans, rats, rabbits, and mice; and that hemolytic anemia, described above, can occur in children and infants after oral or inhalation exposure or after maternal exposure during pregnancy.
Over 400 million people have an inherited condition called glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency. Exposure to naphthalene is more harmful for these people and may cause hemolytic anemia at lower doses..

I just want to encourage anyone having a bad response to a relatively unknown substance to seek help. Feelings of paranoia or doom probably wouldn't be included as a bad response (more like a bad trip), but a tripled or erratic heart rate, difficulty breathing, distressing confusion, and other unusual responses are worth assistance.

The idea that seeking help will "ruin RCs for everyone" has no basis in fact. The presence of people fucked up on drugs is not exactly a stop the presses moment in an ER. What probably happened with the OP's info was that the ER sent a brief summary of drug and reaction to the national poison control data base and the next time an ER searches for JWH 018 (which will include Spice, K2, etc.), they'll know that X people have had whatever reactions and that zero or X deaths can be attributed to JWH.

Anyone with ER experience will tell you, if you feel your life is in danger, go. Now. If it turns out to be a bad trip or panic attack, no problem. They also are common in that setting.

yeah but high doses of this and other drugs can really fuck up your head as you obviously know and you seriously are convinced you are dying but your body will make through with it.

I'm glad that when one of my friends was having panic attack on JWH 018 and was yelling "IM DYING" i didn't send him to the hospital. I just made sure that he was breathing sufficiently and that he could still talk to me. it was a buzzkill but nowhere going to the hospital and that making EVERYTHING worse. the kid was a newbie with weed though and had similar experiences with weed so it was a bit dumb on my part but everything was cool the next morning anyways.

I just got 1 gram of pure jwh this week. So iv become quite acquainted with it, and its effects.

Imo you should always try the over the counter spice first. If that works out ok then you should be fine to smoke small doses of pure jwh.

One important thing to be noted about this drug is that it takes 2x-3x longer to "kick in" than your THC.
And also if your smoking on top of some damiana, or just pure, if you inhale enough to taste it, or taste a difference in your damiana, that should be enough to cause a low dose effect. (or even possibly a high dose in a smaller person.)

You have to realize its cannibinoid activity is much more potent than THC.

JWH effects are simmilar. That doesnt mean if you smoke more JWH it will be more like THC. that means if you smoke more, you will overdose. (Panic attack, Nausea, Vision blur etc.)

I've had a similar expierence. I had tried close to 10 mg before my buddy came by. I told him I bet he couldn't do 20mg, so we weighed, and I ended getting a good 4 out of 5 hits. I started tripping out, super tripping! Like the deathcam of someone about to die. I then had projectile vomit(7 times consecutive times) and suffered from high heart rate and tremors for the rest of the night. I hate panic attacks :(

Another thing that should be noted is that when you smoke this stuff in pure form, the resin build-up in your smoking hardware becomes quite potent.

So, you should always be careful with your resin from the smoking hardware.

^ That's what everyone says when i tell them about jwh. :/

you got the fear. seen it a couple of times. usually with people who havent used it or have barely used it. i wanna say that its mostly mental and that you make it worse by focusing on how bad their heart is racing or thinking that something is going wrong. ive had it myself after smoking much more than i should have but since i had already seen it i just turned on a movie and tried to enjoy being paranoid because i knew i was safe. also, smoking alot of 018 and then laying down can give you the spins. alot of people dont like this but i did for some reason. i laid in bed and turned off all the lights and closed my eyes and focused on the intense spasms that my entire body was having. the only thing i can compare it to is the feeling your stomach gets on a rollercoaster but amplified and not only in your stomach. friends that i smoke with have had the spins too but none seem to enjoy it as much as i do. usually i do this for what seems like 20 minutes but im sure its really something like 5 minutes and then i pass out and wake up the next morning sometimes with a cloudy head that can last half a day or so sometimes.

anyone experience anything similar or seen anyone get the fear?

Few things I can think of:

Panic attack-I've known people to have those effects+worse from just weed... even people who have since started smoking regularly

Low blood sugar-Did the hospital test your blood sugar level? You could be/have been hypoglycemic, it can cause those feelings, and until it gets serious, can feel similar to an unplesant/jumpy sort of intoxication, if you don't know what you're looking for. If you're pre-diabetic, drugs can also fuck with your blood sugar, for instance, cannabis tends to increase insulin resistance, and if you're pre diabetic, it could cause your body to dump insulin and rebound too low.

*edit* like orison said, unless you have drug test or some other legit reason, there's no reason to use synth cannabiniods, they're KNOWN to not be particularly safe, in multipule ways.
