I can't stand that girl Taylor. Greg gets on my nerves too. Have you noticed they are both kind of bullies and kind of like and support each other? What happened tonight? The yellow team once again got to be cooks, meaning other people will mostly do their work. The Christian and Jew kids were always arguing like little bitches ready to start a holy war. The town journal said to have a religious service. After being ordered to go and whining like little jerks no one showed up. One girl who is pretty girl invited people, most came out only to find their religious aren't that different. Some little 9 or 10 year old showed a letter and picture from his plump gf who he has "loved since third grade." He tried to go drink it out of his mind at the salon then went to see the cows but in the end he wussed out opting to go home. The council refused to pick between a miniature golf course and religious books because last week, the chose the microwave over tons of pizza and nearly got attacked by the rest of the kids. Surprisingly, the kids voted and picked religious books. There was a great scene where two kids were reading the Jewish and Christian books and viola it was word for word the same damn thing. The kid who should have won the gold star last week won this week. This meant that Greg continued to be shut out. Watch for the blow up from hell next week. It snowed. I was wishing Greg would pull lazy Taylor out of her cabin into the snow while she tried to sleep in like the lazy bitch she is. Best of all, previews showed that town council election campaigns will start next week. Finally a mechanism to get that terrible kid Taylor out. But here is my prediction: the kids will elect new leader(s) out of people they respect and like. Immediately those people will suddenly seem "bossy, lazy and/or ineffective." There was probably more that went on but that's all I recall at the mo.
Taylor has now been de-throned. The next episode shows her taking out her anger on fellow citizens. Somebody will put her in her place. New Mexico is beautiful in snow. Makes going to the outhouse an adventure though. Brrrrr! x
Some of the kids are actually really impressive. I read through some of the bios of the kids on the website and they kind of fill it out themselves answering stock questions, and several of the kids are REALLY hip. Take Guylan for example... we would have been best buddies it I was 12 years old. I don't know how much was him and how much was written by his parents, but he had pretty well articulated views for a kid so young. Taylor makes me want to wring her neck. Also in the bios, it asked who they thought the worst president was. She said something akin to "Jimmy Carter, because my daddy said he lost us the Panama Canal". I think of that in her overly emphasized accent (I'm from Georgia and I VERY rarely hear anyone speak like that) and it's like nails scraping down a chalkboard.
I'm glad Taylor is out as a "leader" but she will still be a problem. Greg is looking better this week. I felt bad for Mike. He was trying to be so tough. I was impressed by how the losers took it with much more dignity than I would have expected. I as SO happy the Green Team was first place and NOT the yellow team! I can't believe they took the dental care. I think they should have let the kids vote on that like they did last week.
I'd turn some of my resources now to getting her to go home. For instance, have Greg pull her out of the cabin and deposit her in the street in her sleeping bag each morning when she is supposed to get up. If I were her parents, I'd be mortified. I hope they are flailing themselves right now and maybe calling an exorcist!
Supposedly you can get full epi here. I say supposedly because I could never get it to work for Pirate Master which they dropped quite suddenly. http://www.cbs.com/primetime/kid_nation/ Here are a few others: http://www.tv.com/kid-nation/show/72860/summary.html http://www.buddytv.com/kid-nation.aspx HTH
BTW, does anyone know how many of these kids are home, private or public schooled? I'm really curious.
Last night was an interesting turn of events. Taylor wasn't even on the radar screen. There are still alot of kids which still remain unknown to us. The future episodes will hopefully give them a little camera time. Maybe they'll shake things up? x
I agree. It would be nice for other people to get more screen time. We would like to get to know more. Is Alex from the blue district home schooled? I think many of them must be based on all the things these kids say they've done. Who has time for all that if they aren't home schooled?
When Laurel sang Amazing Grace the other night, I actually got weepy eyed. Beautiful voice. I think we're finally fixing to meet some of the other kids. Bout time too.
I've cried every episode so far for one reason or another. This epi I thought, I am not crying for once and then Laurel sang! Wow! I cried!
i love Kid Nation. i find it strange how the kids seem to be more intellectually sophisticated than the adults on survivor china.
LOL! That's true! The "adults" on Survivor China are generally in their twenties and not trying to show that a certain demographic can build something together but rather that each individual can win over all the others.
Last episode tonight. I don't watch much TV, but this show really appealed to me. Hope it'll be back next season. x
Aw, I missed the last two weeks due to being preoccupied. Lucky for me, CBS puts all their shows online now! Haha.
