Actually that was the summer of '69 when I saw them. They weren't playing gigs yet in '68.

 

Woa, a thread about the "Sacred Monster",,, they're my favourite,,, In these days I'm trying to translate all their lyrics for Italian like me,,, and I've found a immense mysticism in those songs, the music of the song "Lizard", god,,, I can't find definitions for it,,, or what about the first album? it's pure poetry, and I must admit that they have open my mind to transcendental things and magic,,, THANK YOU King Crimson,,,
I advice this band to all the people of the world for making their "Eyes Wide Open"

 

I actually heard them on the Radio while at work once.
Alice Cooper hosted a radio show on one of the stations and played from 900 pm to 200 am. He played all kinds of random yet bad ass, old songs, like Frank Zappa and Soft Machine and Syd Barrett era Floyd.
I would liston at night, while I was cleaning up(I was a cook) and he played 21st Century Schitzoid Man.
I stoped working the whole time the song played to liston.
The next day I went out and got In the court of the Crimson King.......

They 've been one of the only bands that I will always recomend to anyone, no matter what their taste.
