My words don't always come out right. I don't love that he's dead. But I think it does help to vindicate life, as he was so much a larger than life person. He seemed untouchable, so it's a valuable wake up call to us all. Our time is short. Let's rise above.

Just hours after the story broke people were already posting conspiracy theories that Kobe was still alive and faked his own death.

 

LOL. Really? Well that is just crazy! But maybe it is true.
I just don’t see him as being larger than life. He could play basketball, I will give him that, but let’s not him into an icon. Or god like. didn’t he rape and strangle a girl at a spa?

 

I disagree, Kobe was larger than life.

Regarding the alleged rape in Colorado, the charges were dropped by the prosecutor after the girl refused to testify.
Kobe invited the girl up to his room and insists the sex was consensual, the girl cried rape.

 

ummm, ok we won’t argue about this but the fact is her neck had strangle marks, he admitted to strangling her and having sex with her as well as her blood being on his shirt. His statement after she dropped it. he made it clear that she she never consented. From my understanding she dropped it for other reasons, like his high power lawyers discrediting her. Anyways, he was just a person, with flaws. I am not big on the hype around sports players and actors.

I am going with he is still alive and hanging out with Elvis.

 

I followed the case closely at the time through Court TV, and what I remember is the sex turned out to be rougher than she expected.
That’s why she felt violated, because she got more (and larger) than she bargained for.

As for Elvis, even if he has been hiding out since 1977 downing peanut butter and banana sandwiches, he’d likely be larger than a barrage balloon, and 85 years old to beat.

not true! She didn’t even testify and his lawyers convinced you of this. No wonder she didn’t want to testify. Read his statement where he admits she never consented. A deal was made where by he had to make this public statement. He never choked his wife, but he chocked her, leaving bruises and her blood on his shirt.

Anal sex! You know, it is funny that people say don’t speak Ill of the dead. Let’s put them on a pedestal and view them as perfect. I feel bad for the families and the loss they are going through, but he was far from perfect as some want him to be remembered as. You can look at the good and pretend that he was perfect, someone to look up to. I don’t see him as that way, he was human with all his faults. My mom, my dad, my uncle had a bigger impact on my life than any actor or sports player. And if any of those people did what he did, you can be sure I would mourn but I would not pretend they were more than what they actually were.

So go ahead and mourn him. I am not really doing that. Basketball will go one. Give someone who really means something to you a hug and tell them how much you appreciate them and love them. One day they might be gone.
