I think that if we didn't violate other peoples private domains this wouldn't be a problem. Everybody could do their own thing.

I think if thats the way the want to live they have that right, I mean wasn't the feminist movement about letting women decide thier own fate. I certainly don't agree with that but good for them for voicing thier ideas. The only problem I have is that men may start pressing those ideas on all women. I don't think thats to likely now.

Do you really think it is feminism that puts a gap between the sexes? They way I see it, it is feminism that has helped bridge the gap between men and women.

Definitely, feminism helped create awareness of patriarchy and how it has oppressed women throughout history. It helped re-define our understanding of "men" and "women" and how social structures have maintained inequalities and gender differences.

Without feminsim, we probably wouldn't have the rights we enjoy today.

Alot of people misunderstand what the feminist movement was about. It isn't about some butch wench marching around, aborting her babies, and throwing men in jail for lude comments. It isn't about destroying the family structure or belittling men. It isn't about forcing jobs or institutions to hire more women when qualified men are bypassed. These are stereotypes and abuses of the feminist movement. More often then not, some of these abuses and sterotypes are headed by men.

    1.Women weren't allowed to vote.
2.men could remove women from the home for whatever reason and prevent her from being with her children.
3.Women were rarely allowed to choose when and whom they married.
4.Lesbians were frequently locked away in sanitariums because obviously, only an insane woman would prefer chicks to husbands.
5.widows and divorced women were unable to get jobs with decent wages in order to support themselves or their children; and they were deemed unmarriagable by society.

These are just some of the things women had to deal with before the mothers of the sufferage and feminist movement came about and raised their voices.

Feminism means that women have equal human rights to men. It means that we have as much individuality and control over our own lives as men do. It means equal pay for equal work.It means women being allowed to choose their own husbands/life-partners/ ect. It means women being allowed to decide when they want to have kids...ect.

I don't think that's asking too much, but apparently some whiny men and silly, undereducated women think it is asking too much.

You would be surprised at how many EDUCATED women are anti-feminist. I'm one of them. And I have my reasons.

Exactly! Also, it attacks women who choose to work in porn and who choose to be wives and moms. Feminists only like it when women make the choices they deem to be appropriate.

Thats the problem with all extreme points of few, and the people who hold them true, they don't open thier minds enough to see whether or not the women are the ones making the choices, not being forced. Im a feminist and i think all women have the right to do what they want. its when husband/Boyfriends put pressure on them that I have the problem.

I once saw a website all about women giving up the right to vote.......I haven't been able to find it again.

I used to go to this forum a long time ago for recipes and whatnot, but they've gotten really biblical....
    http://prairiehomemaker.com/phpbb2/viewforum.php?f=55&sid=9e726bad7b6f6cc583bdaec96c606c0d

Check out the "being approached by men" thread...good lord...you can't even say "hi" to them...:D They think you want sex, guys!

Also the "He's cutting my plants" thread...her hubby is mowing over her garden with the lawn mower and she isn't going to say anything to him....she doesn't want to be a "Miss know-it-all"....crazy.

I think to each their own...I just feel sorry for the daughters who are brought up to be frail and ignorant in this world...

Aren't you a fire-fighter?? I believe I have read you bragging about it on PeTA2. Perhaps that was someone else. Without feminism, women would never have been allowed to work in such a field.

Either way, if it wasn't for those "teh ebol femanasts", you wouldn't be allowed to vote, make a decent living, or even do half the shit you do..like call yourself "Vinceneilsgirl".

Those fucking feminists with their agenda of equal human rights, damn them.

As usual, your hypocrisy shows through. Then again, you hate people...so hating women is no surprise.

If you and other so-called anti-feminists think you are gonna bust up any of my rights, you have another thing coming.

Well you must admit that since you got the vote it's been less about issues and who has the nicer hair and gives you the warm fuzzies.

i beg to differ...not all women are concerned with the same issues. recognising difference is one of the things about feminism. Not all women are the same, some want to be recognised as intelligent, capable beings and others are concerned with less, notoriety, or perhaps notoriety in other aspects of life.

btw i get a bit worked up after my women's studies seminar hehehehe
