anyone you hear on clear channel is pretty much has to be a long way from indie. which i never listen to mainstream so i have no idea, who most of those people are. there was a lisa ray furikawa a few years back who was indie then i liked, haven't heard from her in a long time. probably not the same person, but then coincidences do happen. she recorded mostly anime sounding stuff, but also some mainstream classics too, except she sang them in japanese, which was kind of cute. the anime kind of stuff she did in english. keyboard player as well as singer she was/is.
I've seen pictures of Lana. I don't know if I've ever heard a song, though. I didn't realize she was such a pop star.
This vine introduced me to Lana Del Rey (watching this may be the best 8 seconds you will spend all day).
Well at least she looks better than she did before before........................................... after
I think she is sexy and quite attractive for a 34 year old woman. She definitely looks better now. Her face has filled out and she is nicely thicc. The lip job I noticed earlier on doesn't look noticeable now. Neither of those pictures above are particularly flattering, though.
Lana Del Rey is exactly the kinda music I wouldn't pay for tickets to a concert to, but if a friend offered them to me I'd go.
Although in this instance its kind of coincidence i didn't took proper notice of what she looks like and what she herself might be about, I rarely mix things like appearance and how the sound is achieved up with how much I like the actual sound/tune. It only really matters for the sound part to me if they can't reproduce it live. Wth does her having plastic surgery to do with me enjoying her tunes.
Well, I'm into music of a lot of peculiar people So that way I simply learned to just enjoy their music despite what kind of weird stuff they think or do besides that. This makes me think about the original statement of this thread regarding feeling guilty about liking a 'product' of a (part of an) industry one doesn't wanna support: you can enjoy it without supporting it! Well, probably slightly less easy now since all the streaming.. but still. What's there to feel guilty about then?!
obviously no relation to anyone i was thinking of. also the before looks way better then the after. another thought is that the name "del ray" is also familiar, not in the context of music, but as a long time publisher and occasional writer of real science fiction. though again i doubt very much any relationship there either. so again the world is having a big deal about something completely beyond my personal radar. (which of course it is purfectly welcome to do. anything with that much notariaty and familiarity as apparently this has to everyone except me, and anything not on the leash of corporate media, are so unlikely to be one and the same as to be not worth even suggesting)
Word is if she holds a microphone against her plastic face with some phaser effects on the amp and tweaks the high-pass filter she gets some pretty sublime sounds.
