Intelligence and cognitive test results just show that someone is capable of finding the correct solution to the problem or answer the question in a certain amount of time. They don't research how the solution was reached. They collect no information about the thinking process behind the problem. At least I've never seen any tests like that.

    My observation:
There are people, whose ideas I agree with immediately - I understand the thinking process behind it easily. There are those, I do not agree with and find their argumentation flawed.

The third group of people present arguments that are so different from what I have thought of, that I can't instantly agree or disagree, but have to think about it a little more. Those arguments usually represent a different approach to the problem, or a different side to the matter. A side that to me isn't glaringly obvious. I find those people interesting and it just so happens that they tend to be left-handed. From my observation I conclude that their thinking process/or patterns or whatever you want to call it, are different then mine. Not deficient or more efficient, just different.

This is something I have never noticed and don't think is typical. I believe we all have our own box, inside which we think. They are different, but they are still boxes.

I'm sorry to hear what you had to go through in school. That just sucks. Is it still like this?

It always seemed to me that left handers were more artistically inclined...

I'm ambidextrous, but favour each hand for different things. I can only write with my left hand, for example.

The odd thing is that I used to be left-handed. I guess I just switched to using both over time.

I always get jealous when I hear that people can fap using their non-dominant hand and it feels like someone else is doing it. That's just not fair!

Really? Still? They still try to get kids to use the right hand instead of left?? That makes me sad and just seems so wrong. Geez.

I am not at school now, I spent most of my years out of formal education than in it... No regrets and happy to have lead a diverse life..

I feel also we have more common sense and practical skills. Most right handed people are pretty intelligent of course not all although the majority can hold more data, facts and figures. We just think differently, not in a good or bad way..
    We also compliment each other..

I have no idea if they do it today..it is sad we are forced into a way of thinking simply using a method that says to a child, 'no the other hand'

I feel most people would never have noticed.

Left hander here. If us lefthanders didn't grow up in a righthanders world I'm sure I would be strictly a lefty. Most things you encounter on a daily basis are built for right handers. Those annoying credit card readers are the worst. They attach the pen to the right side of the unit. For us lefties you have to stretch the cord around the unit and it always ends up where you have to sign your name. Look at everyday items, pay attention to how they are situated and look at how a lefty has to adapt to use it. I think us lefties are more adaptable than righthanders because of this. Pretty much everything I do, such as pool, shooting a gun and batting a ball are right handed strictly because thats how you learn because thats how everybody else does it.

i'm a righty and when i roll a joint the filter goes into the left end of the joint every time

do lefties filter the right end?

  11. No man the left, but I did have to do it to see ;) It's because I poke the end open before putting the card in and have more control with my left. You my son are now responsible for me being out of it when I'm supposed to be doing "important" stuff!

I'm a lefty, first one in my family, so everyone was fascinated by the circus freak. :D

I switch hit in baseball, golf left, knit right, crochet left.

If I am carving meat, the knife is in my left hand, but for eating the knife is in my right hand.

After me, I have a cousin, a brother, a niece, and a son who are lefties.

I'm a lefty as well, it's weird how lefties are said to only make 8% of the population, yet there seems to be so many lefties on here posting. Maybe everyone's right and lefties do think differently, maybe they're more open minded and so would be posting on forums like these.

One thing that pisses me off is scissors... I can't cut anything, i don't even get how that works?! Why is it that a lefty can't use right handed scissors with his left hand? I just.. don't get it.. lol

I pretty much do everything with my left hand, i can't do much with my right except for type, since i type with both hands like right now... other than that, it's pretty much incapable of doing anything else like writing, catching, anything that takes cordination...

I was born left handed and forced to use my right throughout school.

So I do everything with my right hand like a left hander does like tie my shoes, eat and play sports. It's weird.

    Ortus,you forgot tin-openers.

There's just no elegant way of opening a tin using a butterfly tinopener, when you're left-handed.
I play guitar lefty,I always keep my drink [I'm talking tea, coffee, juice etc] to my left,I eat cereal with the spoon in my left hand,I tend to hold my smoke in my left.
I even have two pens with left-handed italic nibs.

But strangely,I bat right-handed,play golf right-handed,open doors with my right hand no matter which side of me the handle's on,and do my belt up right-handed.

It's just those poxy tin-openers and scissors.
They're the work of Satan,I tell you!

I completely forgot about that! It takes multiple attempts to open up a can every single time lol

I eat and everything with my left as well, now that i think of it i do everything with my left except play guitar, i can only play right handed guitar for some reason lol

Ohh and i also use my computer mouse with my right hand... it feels so weird switching it over to my left

I am great with right-handed scissors, and they finally started making them with an ergonomic handle. It used to hurt after awhile of the edge digging into my thumb.

Back in the day, they used to make me use left-handed scissors at school...holy fuck those were made by some sadistic idiot who had no idea how leftys work. Those things didn't cut paper so much as chewed it.

Using the computer mouse is one of the rare things I do with my right hand. I guess just beacause I learned to use one with my right hand back in the day. When I grab a guitar I automatically switch it around. Perhaps a slight reason why I never learned to play well (not the main reason I guess, won't use it as an excuse ;))

I cannot do that at all I have to move it over to my left, I have tried and failed..

I also am not musically talented maybe if I practiced hard 24/7 I might be although I very much doubt it...
I am not very good at drawing either, then again I haven't put much time into trying. I am artistic in many other ways just not in the common ways people think of art..
I used to be embarrassed as a kid when people went 'ohh your left handed' like it was a problem... now I don't even think about it..

We are rare and beautiful creatures :sunny:
