Fascism, properly so-called, refers to a particular kind of political system pioneered by Mussolini and Hitler back in the 1920's-early 40s and re-emerging in our own time and country. It's outstanding characteristics are the Führer principle (follow the leader blindly); bands of thugs using violence and intimidate political opponents; targeting and dehumanizing scapegoat populations (Jews, leftists, gypsies, Haitians, Somalis, etc.), a populist/xenophobic ideology; a cozy partnership with the industrial corporate oligarchs, flouting of the rule of law., militarism, imperialism, and totalitarian dictatorship. Similar to Marxism-Leninism in some respects, but in minus the economic determinist ideology and proletarian pretensions. Do we have any political systems like this today? Putin's Russia? Probably. (Stalinism without the Leninist camouflage). Any others? Are they "liberals"? Hmmm.

The ultimate goal for the far left is no government, with equal rights for all. I is believed that there is a period of dictatorship to get everyone cooperating in society. The ultimate goal for the far right is an oligarchy with an elite few in total control of all aspects of society. That goal is like today with a Lying Jackass calling the shots.
