So...little old me is supposed to jump through hoops to get nothing of what I wanted in return. The question is, why should I bother to even ride this one out?

I guess it shouldn't be a great effort to camp out for one or two more dates, but it is if I know what's coming. And that is, the I-want-a-relationship chestnut.

Edit: BTW, she called off an engagement because her fiance is supposed to have cheated. I bet he hit it on the first night.

 

I think you might be attracted to a specific breed of woman. There are the types you describe, but its definately not the majority that I deal with. Maybe you would have a more pleasant experience with the opposite sex if you widen your hunting ground.

 

We attract what we send out. Truly, it's all about aura.

i don't think celebrities and such have the same rules. a lot of times it's like a once-in-a-lifetime sort of opportunity, so even a girl that normally doesn't sleep with anyone on the first night might sleep with a famous guy because she wants to be able to say "i slept with christiano ronaldo" and she knows if she doesn't do it NOW it's not going to happen.

As a gay man who understands women quite well, I know that to be a lie. Straight men will simply never understand women for two reasons. One, their minds are not wired to understand them. Secondly, women do send the wrong signals all the time rather than state exactly what is on their minds.

 

No lie. Open may be very simple, and men don't want to trust that. Open can also be very vulnerable, and men see that as manipulative. Open may also be playful, and men think it's flirting. Men choose what they want to believe even though women put it out there. Bottom line, it's about personality on both sides. It takes time to see a consistency in their traits, and until there's true clarity, it seems both sides think it's games.

 

I personally don't care whether or not I hookup with a chick on the first date/meeting. But I don't like stupid rules. And I don't care for girls that put such restrictions on intimacy. So I wouldn't go out again with someone who had a "no sex on the first date" rule.

If the vibe is there and we're both feeling it, great. If not, that's cool too. But if a girl wants to hold back because of some rule she has, then I tell her to get to steppin.

I don't think he was referring to the celebrity aspect as much as someone a lot of women drool over. Most Americans wouldn't even know who he is cause he's a soccer player and soccer is practically non-existant in the states. But he's the top futballer in the world, next to Lionel Messi.

well, who do "a lot" of women drool over other than celebrities? any good looking local guy is still just another good looking guy, and while he might have slightly better chances of bedding a girl on the first night, it's not the automatic-pantie-drop-within-15-minutes-of-meeting referenced in the OP.

Show us a picture of yourself, and we will inform you whether you are worthy of a "drop the panties immediately" night. Otherwise, stop your frelling complaining.

True, but if you're a celebrity of Ronaldo's status then you're not wasting your time with regular girls anyways. You'd be fucking top models and other celebrities. So you can't really take it too literally. I'm sure he was more trying to emphasize hot than celebrity.

No. Even though that's happened with almost every chick I've ever dated. Even my ex-wife, who's the most atypical woman I've ever met, did that. Although she did fuck me on the first night.

Here's the thing, though. The whole scenario about camping out for another two dates is already an optimistic one. If experience serves, she's going to put up walls between me and those dates, even.

Won't pick up or return phone calls/messages, cancel last minute, won't suggest alternative times, etc.

Until that familiar experience rears its ugly head again, when the memory of the features of a girl I've kissed starts fading in the background...day after heartbreaking day.

 

By "drop" the rule, did you mean wave it or lay it down? :biggrin:

What happened was, I invited her over and she said she was not "one of those girls" (who sleeps with someone on the first night they meet).

What I was referring to about the other women I've dated is that, almost all of them said they wouldn't have sex with me the night they had sex with me.

In one particular relationship, that happened repeatedly even after we had already had sex for the first time.

 

Which is why I don't mess with girls who have such silly rules. If they're not willing to open up and let things happen naturally, then I just can't be bothered with them.

But if you're going to put up with silly rules, then throw it back on her by making some of your own. Like refusing to commit until X number of months .
