Australia, Canberra and Melbourne for the F1 weekend race. Australia is nice don't get me wrong but just like the rest of big cities, it's all the same stuff. Same chain stores and franchises etc. I mean, you just don't have to go anywhere anymore that makes the day exciting or interesting. Where I live in Germany, to go to a big chain store and shop we drive the few hours to München. It makes the day exciting! But unless you live in towns like that, you can just walk to a shop and get the same thing. I've been to all cities in Australia now minus Darwin and Hobart and I guess my interests just don't keep me entertained for too long. I found the same in America really, like at the end of the day, a pub is a pub and a sports bar is a sports bar. Unless it's the tilted kilt in Denver, which just shocked me the moment I walked in (tiny girls with next to fuck all clothing on) Irish pub is an Irish pub. I like going to aquariums and zoos these days. But the thrill of a city... I've just never gotten it. I love München just for the beer halls but the again, a beer hall is a beer hall too. So that's my complaint for the day. Everything the bloody same no matter where you go in the world. Different accent, different language, same shit, different smell.
I only enjoy historic cities, but usually I am not going to the big cities when i travel abroad. I would like to experience Dubai though. Anyway, I'm kind of concerned about all these people flying to the other side of the world just for a week Sure we have the possibility and it feels luxury but plane fuel ruins the environment. Ideally we shouldn't make use of it like it's the bus or the subway.
The pointless wars we fight do much worse things to the environment than recreational travelers ever could. If anything, the tourist dollars that create jobs and income for people in underdeveloped countries with fragile yet tourism-friendly ecosystems and habitats probably do more to protect the environment than any international regulation could.
I think you pull that out of your ass. Most of the tourist money that goes to the jobs for those people your talking about goes to their own families, like food, rent, school. That money is not saving the environment. Maybe a tiny percentage of it, and only because people were concerned about this plain fuel issue and acted upon that concern before. That there are even worse things for the environment, sure that's true. But does that mean we can all happily fly to the other side of the world for a few days? No, that would be terrible. In that way its a good thing not everyone is able to If they could they would too. All this entitlement....
OK maybe that's an exaggeration. Ever heard of ecotourism? That's the type of tourism that should be more encouraged. Why would anyone want to travel to a place where the environment is destroyed and the exotic wildlife gets poached to extinction?
But if it's not me on the airplane, it'll just be somebody else so it may as well be me. and I'd take a cruise tbh, if they were faster.
Or just an empty seat. Which is just as dreadful. That system should change. They're like bus and train lines, they always go as on schedule even when half empty. But how did this system came to be? Because we all want(ed) pure luxury to be normal. Not that a cruise is less luxury (just not timewise ), but yeah such a travel would appeal to me to. Like they went to such faraway places like a 100 years ago and it was the best way
feel asleep on the couch last night, idk maybe a bit after 9pm. Woke up at 4am and decided to go get in bed. After 2 hours of that I decided this attempt to go back to sleep was futile, and that I would be very pissed off if I did manage to get 30 or so minutes of sleep before the alarm goes off. I still feel very sleep deprived, almost as if I hadn't slept at all. Needless today I feel like shit, and today is going to suck. I definitely don't feel very sharp in the mind today. A little bit pissed off about that.
This brand of Ramen Noodles cooks more quickly than the brand I usually buy. I didn't figure it out until I'd already made mushy noodles.
This is probably on the nose, but if the thread fits post it right.. The immense amount of unnecessary dick cheese on this forum. There! I said it! I feel so much better. Maybe i can get back to posting normally now.
