Oh noes. I love German. It's so... powerful, for lack of a better term. Arabic sounds like hell. Spanish sounds like birds squawking. French just sounds dumb. I have a fascination with languages. I think the guttural European and Eastern European ones are the coolest. I can't wait until I take Russian... how similar is it to Ukranian, anyone know? My dad speaks whatever they used to speak in Yugoslavia [whatever it is nowadays, I don't even know... Georgia?], which is apparently the same as what they speak in Croatia. Fuck if I can keep track of all those former Soviet countries. But the way they talk [and look] makes my pants soggy. Whatever they got goin' on in the Ukraine, they're doin' it right. *gurgle*
Bitch, please. Spanish is the most gorgeous language on this planet. French is pretty nice, too. Arabic does sound like Hell. Ukrainian and Russian sound similar enough that a novice wouldn't tell the difference.
Fun to listen to, yes. Gorgeous? Not so much... try working in a restaraunt where 85% of the staff is Puerto Rican. Jeeeeezass. Birds on crack, squawking their brains out, I swear.
That's because Spanish varies a lot from country to country. I'm Dominican and I would probably hate Spanish too if I worked in a place where 85% of the staff was Puerto Rican. Even Dominicans dont speak Spanish that pretty. I mean if Im speaking proper Spanish is pretty, but Im speaking "Dominican" Spanish, not so much.
Well, I went to school there so I had to. It caught on and I was pretty good at some point but I had to learn Russian in school when I moved back to Estonia and I get those two mixed up and I'm forgetting my Spanish.. I wanna start learning it again, though.
I mean, I'm gonna learn Spanish fairly soon in college, but it still seems that it just kinda whargarbls out of yr mouth all rapidfire. *shrug* It'll be interesting, to say the least... Both German and Arabic are guttural languages and Spanish uses the front of the mouth. I have hardcore ankyloglossia [tongue-tied] and can't roll an R to save my life.
hahaha, I had to. I always wanted to live in places that they spoke a different language than Spanish or English just so I could learn the language. You should watch movies in Spanish, with subtitles. It helps.
I learned Russian for 7 years. i cant say a word. i guess my brain capacity is lower than a rat. but i love Russia
