    I was just thinking about how odd some people are, a client of mine has just rung me, I take care of the electrics on his rental properties and he has a friend who also rents houses. His friend has just had a 'quote' for some work to be done, however the electician quoting for the job has not quoted it correctly, neither it would seem is he planning to do the work in the correct manner. He rang me after speaking to his friend to get my opinion on the way forward, I advised his friend that what was being quoted for was not correct and that I could see the quote actually increasing as the work went on. My advice was to get a full inspection and test done, I offered to do this for a small fee, and then I could give him a proper accurate and concise quote for the work to be done. He was fine with the idea of getting a proper quote, and an inspection and test before the work was done, the problem was he didn't like the idea of paying for it!
    How crazy are some people, I mean it's one thing to spend 20 minutes or so looking at something to give an estimate, but who in their right mind is going to do a load of testing work taking over an hour for nothing when they may not get the work!

    as someone who has spent most of my life working in the trades it never ceases to amaze me how many people want shit done for free or to cheep to get a qualified person out of bed.
