At least he thinks about this stuff, and he actually considers an intelligently presented argument, even if it opposes his point of view. You don't have to agree with his beliefs, and he doesn't have to agree with yours. Neither of you has to budge from your beliefs, or believe anything you're not ready to accept. But, eventually, you have to recognize the simple fact that you contradict your professed beliefs when you don't treat him with kindness and respect. The same kindness and respect that you yourself deserve.
