While I appreciate the sentiment, I don't think the Green Party fully shares those values. After all, they chose to back Cynthia McKinney's presidential campaign. I sometimes wonder if we'd be better off with 8 presidents, like Switzerland.
a council of nine with no individual authority, but only by consensus. (i don't know about switzerland that much, but this is what baha'u'llah proposed, and i rather fancy the idea myself) as for parties, infinite or none. when media only gives air to two, the vast majority of people, are not well nor fairly represented by either. we really need a totally impartial mechanism to guarantee free and fair elections, and if we had one, there would be no need for political parties at all. the nominating process would then BE the election. that's what i mean by plurality, if it means something else entirely. this also is the way the baha'is do it. (though its only the local council that is elected directly, which is seen as the most important as the national level directs only the councils and not individuals directly either)
It's just that even in Switzerland it's a big job running a country. Far more than a single person can hope to master. There's absolutely no way an American president can NOT fuck something up. Unless you're Obama of course!
