Life ain't easy... unemployment- sign of the times?

maybe this will sound ignorant.. I was working for UPS, I work for FEDEx now.. when I was working for UPS we had workers that their only job is to sweep the floor. You would be surprised how difficult this is to do for some people ..
The broom isnt a difficult tool to use.. Get behind it and push for $8.00 an hour, but for the life of me there are many people that cant complete this simple task without directions.. Making my job more difficult repairing machinery cause the debris are in the way..
I cant tell you how many times I was pissed off and irritated cause I had to tell them over and over "get behind the stick and push, this is all you have to do!!! Its not that difficult"..

some people dont want to work no matter how easy the job is.. There is no lack of work at UPS there will alway be shit to sweep, but finding someone that can do this correctly isnt easy.. go figure..

No...Its here again that you show your ignorance. That is a completely ridiculous statement, most times Id avoid the drama that spawns here sometimes but that is wrong on so many levels that I cant ignore it.

Heh, I usta' have a similar gig at O'Hare working with NWA, Lufthansa, Swissport etc. Nothing more thrilling than climbing under a dock leveler in sub zero weather to adjust spring tension or climbing in the pit to fix a busted hydraulic line thats locked in a foot of solid ice. :cheers2:

I'd probably still be doing it but got burnt out on being on call 24-7/365.

One of these day's I'll have to write a thank-you letter to Nestles for slapping me down with a hiring freeze right after I put a 2 week notice in at O'Hare, life has been much more interesting away from working in the greater Chicagoland Industrial complex.

thanks those who were positive. and purp I respect your opinion but I have been applying everywhere even mcdonalds, and many other lame jobs. I am just amazed, this got to 8 pages already. I was telling my friend the one that hired me, about looking for a job, and she said I could do this myself, but since you are in a bad place I will pay you to do so. Which is funny ironic bc I havent even talked to her in 9 + months, we just ran into each other, and it was like we never stopped talking. So now I muck stalls, turn out her 3 horses, and walk them about 2 times a day. It pays little, but it will get me by for a little bit. IF i hadnt run into her like I did, I would be in a very bad place.
