lol i look like an ass...you are the one analyzing every little bit of detail. you could have inferred that i was not talking about jobs that are available to me are also available to you, because assuming that is fuckin retarded...

really guy you need to sit down

wow, can everyone just chill! Seriously purp thinks everyone can find a job, and me and everyone else dont think it is that easy. so lets just leave it at that. He isnt going to change his mind, and none of us are going to change ours. No matter how ignorant you think he is, it isnt worth fighting over. Now I got to get ready for work, so see ya all later.

Either you seriously implied it or like 10 random people in this thread somehow came to that conclusion

Hey Purp, I read a few of your posts about taking anything available.
    I am unemployed for over a year now. I have submitted over 600 applications in that time. I have over 15 years retail management experience, but have looked at all type of jobs. You know one thing I have heard an awful lot;
    YOUR OVERQUALIFIED
Even when I practically begged for a job I was told that they could not pay me what I was worth based on my experience.
It really isn't as easy as you think.
Maybe for some young kid without decades of work experience you can get that job scrubbing septic tanks, not as easy for an older person with lots of experience.

Also the unemployment rate is causing more and more employers to not even accept applications in person, Apply online is the more common response today.
I tried to apply at So.Cal Edison (electric utility). The HR person told me they are currently receiving 20,000-25,000 applications A MONTH. That not a typo, I said over twenty thousand a month. She said that a human doesn't even see them until the computer system has pre-screened the apps and get the number down to about 200. Then some hr people further screen them until they get under 50, then they start calling people. So in that instance you have to make through at least about 19,950 other people applying for the same job before you can even try to sell yourself to the employer.
It is that way with most all mid to large sized companies.

It isn't as easy as you think.

yes you did. you said that if you can get a job then anyone can.

but seriously though. it took me a month to find a low-end job, and i live in a city. luckily i have friends and family that could help me in the meantime. i pretty much got lucky as hell to get the job too, who knows how long i could have had to keep searching.

unemployment is very real. but we can sit here and talk about how much it sucks all day and it will not lead to any kind of solution. unemployment rates are so high because our economical system is whacked. our connection to humanity is whacked. we need to find a more simple way of living that doesn't pollute the enviroment so much, and doesn't create so much hostility between humans. we need to get more in touch with our nature and the planet we live on. sustainable lifestyles are really the best answer. the lifestyle of the general public isn't sustainable. eventually pollution will become too great, oil prices too high, or just the non-renewable resources that drive society will run out.

Desos, do you have to use every thread topic as an opportunity to soapbox your idealistic political beliefs?
Your ideas are not bad, just not feasible or practical in the short term for a solution to the unemployment problem.
Your ideas, if by some miracle could be implemented wouldn't yield results of the type you dream about for decades at least. We need a solution now.
HMMM. War has always been good for the economy, but not some bullshit that is going on now that is partly supported by privatized corporations.

war is not the answer. it doesn't take much to run a country in a time of war, but to run a country in a time of peace is a greater persuit. ways of living in harmony with the earth are pretty simple and do not vary drastically. there is one simple solution. real solutions take time to implement, anything else is just putting a bandaid on it and pretending it doesn't exist. there is nothing that is going to fix the problem now. even if the problem was toned down slightly, it would still be there. i'm not trying to soapbox my ideals, i'm just stating what is relative to the thread. there is a problem with the system, in that there are inherent flaws predisposing people to unemployment. so why would a system that did not suffer from such inherent flaws not be better?
