Yeah, same on the cages thing. There was that show a while ago made by a cook with a long name.. Shame I can't remember it. But that was about killing the chickens, not taking eggs. But I think every animal has feelings so eh...
ahh well,, at this point i could take it or leave it. we only eat meat a couple days a week anymore and dilli has perfected using lentils and rice as a meat substitute to the point that in most dishes you cant tell the difference between it and ground beef.
You're not an addict. If you've never eaten animal protein during your years of growth, your body absolutely needs to substitute with sugar and carbohydrates. Which might generate other problems down the road.
I'd like to eat less. It is freaking expensive, and any kind of beef is too hard on my stomach. Chicken and fish are ok, though. I have a couple of lentil/rice dishes the family likes, so I can continue looking for good recipes.
I only eat fish. pescetarianism. It's named after Pescatar. The roman god of mermaids. Making the switch was pretty easy. It also encouraged me to cook for myself more often, which my inner cheapskate appreciates.
no ways I could livewithout animal meat Generally, I think people who exclude any food group have a very special kind of mental retardation
Caged Eggs A battery hen spends her entire life laying cramped inside a shared cage. She will never see the sky. Each cage holds 3 to 7 hens. Each hen's floor area is only 450 cm squared, about 3/4 of the size of an A4 sheet of paper. With her wings outstretched, a hen is twice the size of a typical battery cage. A battery hen cannot perch, preen, roost, scratch, dust bathe or spread her wings. Inside the cage it is impossible for her to walk or exercise. She cannot fulfill her most fundamental instinctual drive, to lay her eggs in a nest. Hens are so desperate to nest that they will even lay their eggs in the rotting corpses of other chickens. These eggs often end up on your breakfast table. Egg laid on corpse: Battery Hen: I'm not trying to say it's wrong to eat eggs (I eat eggs ) But these are the 'facts' (someone's probably gonna pull me up on this). I'd like to stop eating eggs. It's just NOT natural, and there is NO excuse for any animal to be treated this way. Would you buy and eat eggs from a chicken like this?
