    This has nothing to do with taste.

    Unless my sense of taste is simply superior to yours.

    You said it was not natural to eat eggs.

    What you desribe here - no.
    I imagine we have been EATING eggs for thousands of years...that IS natural.

    Further investigation.

    Sounds idylic.

    I'm not disagreeing with you. I'd disagree wit the way you present the "facts"...but that is personal style. I understand that.

    I meant it wasn't natural to be keeping the chickens like that.

    odey, it's almost one AM and I can't be fucked discussing this right now :D

    I eat eggs, most people eat eggs, you eat eggs, some people don't eat eggs...

    Who's to say if it's right or wrong?

    All I'm saying is it doesn't look good from where I'm standing.

    there arent really legal standards for free-range. the chickens could be walking across litter and excrement or simply be jampacked into a tight area that's "outside" and they can still slap the label on their eggs

    Probably.

    I come from a place where this is accepted:

    I think I may be your opposite.

    Being my opposite means that you're Jesus and that I now must kill you. Please do not take such things lightly.

    Wiki:

    UK free-range systems must also provide the following:
    • One hectare of outdoor range for every 2500 hens (equivalent to 4m2 per hen; at least 2.5m2 per hen must be available at any one time if rotation of the outdoor range is practiced);
    • Continuous access during the day to this open-air range, which must be “mainly covered with vegetation”;
    • Several popholes extending along the entire length of the building, providing at least 2m of opening for every 1000 hens

    It's not like the U.K. ever counts...

    Maybe before the end of the Hong Kong lease...

    But really not anymore, not at all.
