Hey guys this cricket I just saved your dialog cuz as soon as I get a router i gotta do almost the same thing. But the other box is a dual Windows/Ubuntu box. If I can't find the data I need in this thread or online at ubuntu.org or the other sources you listed I sure will be posting here. Penquin Kudos to you both.

I tried installing Slackware 11 this weekend with minimal success (I last tried linux many years ago, and for a few days tops before giving up) and I gave up on SW and tried Mandriva (when I tried years ago I had some success with Mandrake, which became Mandriva, so i tried it again) and it's been running on my other PC with next to no problems since saturday. the only problem i've had is I can't access the shared folders on my network from windows to linux, but the linux box can access all my other shares.

If it doesn't work out for you with Mandriva do give Ubuntu a try. It is far from perfect but it may be your best bet. Especially with all the online help. Go to www.ubuntu.com and www.ubuntuforums.org

    Peace, cricketlind
