Really I think scamming for fastfood is A-ok if you're cool. It would be kinda awesome to see somebody jump over the counter, snatch all the hot burgers and jet. I'd laugh my ass off without an ounce of sympathy for the chumps waiting in the drive thru for dollar menu items that aren't worth a nickel

I've been grinding on this topic since you brought it up and trying to dream up ways to do something sensible about it for future down on their luck space travelers who for whatever reason would choose criminality rather than honest living, so I wonder if you'll honestly answer a few questions that I have that are not meant to be perceived as judgmental. Thanks in advance if you'll indulge me:

1. When you chose to commit your crimes, were you motivated by self pity, anger, a sense of entitlement, lust for kicks, or something like that? Or was it because you never even considered that abundant food was all around you and legally free or almost free for the taking? Or did you consider it but conclude that you were ignorant of how to go about taking it?
2. Now that you have some scratch, are you going to repay those businesses you ripped off? If not, why not?
3. If when you were down and out some random guy had offered you room and board for a few weeks in exchange for honest but relatively hard manual labor, e.g. farm, ranch, or construction work, would you have taken him up on his offer?
4. If you come home one day to find your refrigerator empty, your home electronics missing, and your bed linens gone, are you going to smile and wish the anonymous thief the best of luck in his journey through life?
5. What might we peaceful and honest criminals (dope smokers and thought criminals, that is) have done, or do in the future, to keep folks like you from breaking bad, short of just giving you an easy high paying job and free shit?
6. Finally: Why is it important to you that people support and approve of your criminal behavior?

On a more personal note, I'm shocked that a guy who was so recently down and out would think it important to say a thing like "... and believe me bolero, I make more money than you do". What is the purpose of that? Do you believe that your income indicates your worth as a human being, the righteousness of your actions, or the correctness of your opinions?

 

when we are in the city and eating in a part of town that has a lot of homeless my wife will order something to go after our meal so when we walk outside she has a meal to give to one of them.

I agree with this assessment.

Nothing wrong with being homeless, even by choice. Nothing wrong with living off your witts and the things others won't live off of. But there's something wrong with being a thieving piece of shit, and pretending it's because you're poor. There's lots of poor people with honor.

Maybe it's because he was rich, and then poor. He brought his lecherous tendencies accross the class spectrum with him, he just had to learn new ways to apply them.

The problem isn't doing what you must, if you're starving, rip off mcdonalds, see if I give a fuck. The problem is them running around living good by doing this, when there are options. The fact that they'd leave a cushy situation in the kind of place that you get an ounce of dank just for not looking high enough when you show up shows that they where never close to desperate..... I'm not desperate, and I get bomb ass shit out of dumpsters (including things worth a lot of money, and perfectly good, clean food) and the fact that there's no mention of this, but plenty of "scamming" in ways that are more dangerous, harder, and actively bad, as opposed to actively good recycling..... Well it speaks for itself about the kind of people we're talking about.
