    "East of Eden" from Steinbeck is a great read. One of my favorite books all time is "The Picture of Dorian Gray" from Wilde, I recommend it to all.

    Good choice -

    Try 'Ancient Evenings' by Norman Mailer. An overlooked masterpiece IMO.

    Grapes of Wrath and 1984 are two amazing, insightful books.

    Anything by Dean Koontz, Dan Brown is also a very good author IMO.

    Read the Gemma Doyle trilogy. It's 'A Great and Terrible Beauty', 'Rebel Angels' and 'The Sweet Far Thing'.
