There you go. The only thing you have proven is your ignorance. To that, I have no doubt. Look at you. You have ruined a beautiful thread because of your argumentativeness and insistence on what you claim to know about The Supreme Personality of Godhead, claims on whose validity you have nothing to prove but merely links to wikipedia and an Internet website.
To inform everyone new here, and to keep the old-timers in this section reminded: The Chief and his alter ego, Molly the Hippy, generally have a much-less-than-serious style, a mildly confrontational and ironic sense of humor, and a definite talent for channeling these aspects into whacky and flippant off-the-wall statements and arguments. Sometimes it's easy to take those the wrong way. He's basically a good, well-meaning person, from what I can tell. When he goes off on a weird tangent, just ignore him.
maybe brother joseph but nevertheless all things of this universe have their source in god and therefore, because there exists gayness in this world god is therefore gay
Case in point. Chief, you made a conclusive statement, "god is therefore gay", or god = gay, following from two other conclusive statements: "all things of this universe have their source in god", which we each personally take as true based on proofs plausible to us; also, "there exists gayness in this world", which is demonstrably true. According to your logic, if god is the source of all things, and gay, then every living entity should be gay, which is demonstrably untrue.
except for that god is also hetero as we have hetero in this world and therefore the evolved being is bi as is our dear lord
An elephant's ears is like a large leaf fan. But an elephant is not a large leaf fan. If I emphatically declared that you have the attributes of an idiot, then by using your logic, you must agree that you are in fact idiocy personified. Using your logic, you should have no trouble agreeing to that.
QUOTE One myth that particularly holds sway in the community of eunuchs in Chennai is drawn from the Mahabharata. As the evenly matched armies of the Kauravas and the Pandavas faced each other in the battlefield of Kurukshetra, the gods made known that victory will be achieved by the clan which sacrifices a hero who possesses all the 63 features of ideal masculinity (samudrika lakshanam). Only two men were found to be so endowed. One was Lord Krishna himself, the other was Arvan Swamy, Arjun's son from the daughter of the snake king, Ullippi. Arvan, a youthful bachelor, agreed to be sacrificed, but sought one night of marital bliss before his martyrdom. No woman was prepared to be widowed in a day, so in the end Lord Krishna assumed the form of Mohini and wed Arvan. After the young hero's sacrifice, Krishna wore the mourning robes of a widow. This event is recreated every year in a massive festival at Koovagam village in Tamil Nadu. Based on this myth, eunuchs regard themselves as the reincarnation of Lord Krishna.
i agree that because people are idiots, god can be god cuz someone has to be an idiot so god does not have to be one... its a selfless service that someone has to do so god can be god... if no one took on the service to be an idiot, then god would have to take on that service and then there wouldn't be god but even that which is not god, idiotacy, is still god for everything is god, even that which is not god btw, personal attacks are against forum guidelines
Disagree. Idiocy cannot be god, otherwise, it wouldn't be god at all. Notice the small caps. That which is not god, cannot be god. Why call it god at all, if it is not god? If everything is god then everything must be eternal. Is everything eternal?
Let me repeat my question. If everything is god, then everything must be eternal. Is everything eternal?
Hare Krishna! Chief seems to be in a cruel mood of pulling legs or judging our position of understanding. Whatever, it is difficult to find another man as well read and informed as Chief. I do not have the audacity to say that he has only read but understood nothing. He would do well to take some sedative and sleep for at least 72 hours to regain his sanity. Love to Chief, Kumar.
I think the Chief has, in an oblique way, raised an issue which perhaps needs to be looked at. I don't mean the question of Krishna's alleged bisexuality - certainly in Indian art, Krishna is often given a very effeminate appearance, particularly by western standards, but I wouldn't like to say the chief is right or wrong on that. But the wider issue is gay people and spirituality. In the past. gays have been discriminated against in many fields, and religion seems to be one of the last bastions of institutionalized homophobia. It is a controversy which is currently threatening for example, to split the anglican church over the question of gay bishops. It seems important to me that if there is something of value in the spiritual path, then it should be open to all, regardless of sexuality. Also, I think the idea held by some religious people and others that gayness is either morally bad or else a disorder of some kind is totally incorrect. There's a wide spectrum of different human types and behaviours, and I think that's nature's way.
