Went once when I was a kid. Had fun but it ended as a bad day. It's ok but I wouldn't do it again without some peer pressure. Winter olympics
compared to summer olympics, they're just 'cooler'. (neither are high on my list of things i care about) creative hobbies being turned into spending contests
Like when it is possible to figure it out. Hate when they are like "Mr. Robinson did it" and there was no Mr. Robinson in the story. Baby breath
Not heard of him to be honest - so I checked him out and quite liked (so love) . Pina Colada cocktail?
Nope. Not interested in boozing, not in the slightest. Dog-poo bags...good idea, or mere tree decorations?
love literary science fiction better. films may have wonderful high tech eye candy environments, but often bring in too much mundane ways of thought to appeal to a broader, more lucrative audience. to verying degrees they loose me by doing so. still preferable to mundane classasism though. its just rare for them to capture what i feel reading science fiction, or even fantasy, of a kind that appeals to me. current real science fiction authors (who the heck are some of them? are there even any? i've fallen completely out of touch and i'm really curious)
With you there,themnax-we need more old-style science fiction. bring back "I,Robot''. I bloody HATE seeing people who really PANIC if they can't find their mobile 'phones for 3 seconds. It just makes me despair for the species that is supposed to be 'intelligent' [I usually have NO idea where my telephone is...I'm IT'S master,so sod it]
lol that. humans are just insane. or at least the dominant culture in the u.s. seems to have become. i almost never take a phone with me when i leave the house. i like being unreachable a good deal of the time. even when i had a land line i learned how to turn the ringer off and usually kept it that way. when i'm out riding around on the bus, the last thing in hell i need is to be robbed of enjoying what i can see and experience of the real world. i can't believe how willing people are to miss so much, trying to be some kind of business leader, or even playing games. i have an old digital clock that folds up that i carry in my pocket to know how long i have to wait for a bus instead. i can actually read it in the bright daylight, which is almost impossible with the phone. hmm love or hate, intercity buses being by reservation now.?
Hate - (It wouldn't be as bad if the delivery of service could be assured) - but primarily because it removes the spontaneity of choice Love or Hate: The House you currently reside within?
I love my house... just bought it last summer and finally did the little repairs I wanted to, built a fire pit and I have a kickass little garage/barn I work in, watch a ball game in, etc. Love or Hate: 70s-era music/styles
most of them love, all the mellower and stranger ones. you know the early spacey electronica was great, i thought. loved the moodies, tangarene dream, only one i couldn't really stand were the stones, and odd thing inough jager also did celtic that was completely different from his rock and quite good. jefferson airplane, jethro tull, yes, all of those, were and still are the kind of sound i love. love or hate: cities?
Cities = The necessary evil for the masses, dense interaction and hustle, bustle is too much for me - Still, one can at least leave work behind there and - escape to ones' abode of relaxed residence I prefer the outskirts of rural lifestyle, chillin' along with the breeze, the rustle of leaves ... etc. Love or Hate: Star Trek (The original series)
I think there's a lot of charm in them but it's not something I'd go out of my way to watch. So I guess I'm kind of neutral on the matter. Love/Hate: The beach
