lsd & alchohol

so because your not drinking your problems away alone your doing a good thing?

life gives you problems so you can deal with them not sweep them under the rug and forget about them. i realize that more then 80% of the population will disagree with me on this point but whatever.

I didn't say I was doing a good thing, but I'm also not doing anything inherently wrong by having a beer.

Pardon the disagreement on what life is about, but I don't think that it works that way. I agree that you have to deal with problems, but that's not WHY there are problems, at least in the way I view things.

The problem arises, like with anything, when you do it too much. If I was saying get drunk everyday, before class or work or w/e then yeah that's wrong. It's the same as smoking pot all the time or trippin all the time - doing any of that all the time will cloud your perception of what's going on in your life.

Alcohol doesn't make you stupid, it CAN increase your chances of making a stupid decision. Certain of my friends and I don't do stupid shit when we're drunk, and some of us really are the opposite of stupid. Certain kinds of ignorance are bliss, though I don't really like absolute statements.

Sorry, I just don't take kindly to moral arguments for doing or not doing a great deal of actions.

 

alcohal has been ingested since the begining of man. Just because you dont like the affects of it dosent mean theres somthing wrong with it. Havent you ever noticed when you go to shows and festivals almost every one is wasted, i bet its becuase they are all inexperienced and cant handle there drugs.
Drinking is by no means moraly wrong, but being an ignorant jackass is...
And if acid were legal like alcohal all the mental hospitals across america would probably be full.

this just in - i have a friend who took acid at a party where people were drinking. he says he ingested more alcohol that night than every other night of his life combined, and it didn't do a damn thing. i was drinking one night a couple of weeks ago with some friends, and my boyfriend and the same friend and i decided to take acid whilst wasted. it was as though a giant hand came and lifted me out of my drunken stupor into a higher place. pretty wacky. yay lsd.

I've never drank while on LSD, so I don't really have any input here. I dont see why one would even have the desire to drink with tripping on acid, but hey, to each his own I guess.

 

Doesn't seem like it would be a necessary mix. Two great things, but I don't think they're cohesive.

The only reason I say that is because of how different they are. Some might love it, but it doesn't sound overly appealing to me.

 

I have had instances when the alcohol has killed the LSD. It wasnt beer but hard liquor. I dont know, after that happened i never drank with it again.

 

From my experiences, a small amount of Alchohol has been nice to have around on the come up. Even though I have tripped a plenty, I get alot of strange physical sensations in the first couple of hours of an experience, which can throw my head off center. If you just take a hearty swig after you dose it can help keep your mind off of the weirdness that lies ahead. Probably the worst habit for me, but I always get that, like "How long since I dropped, gotta find the groove so things don't go sour...". You can't TRY to fall into the tripping space, it's much better to stay passive and Alchohol helps me with that, keeps me at ease. Meditation seems the much healthier remedy, but my mind tends to wander once it's acidified. Plus, the alchohol buzz is always lightyears behind me once the real fireworks present themselves, so that's the part I save the herb for. EveryBody is different.

 

as a basic rule, i try not to reduce my LSD experiences by dulling them with alcohol. often it is simply because of habit (and the need to stay hydrated) that i'll drink a little.

a bottle of juice or water is far more trip friendly. also, as many have noted, smoking a little grass on the comedown is really nice. this discussion reminds me of an incident when i was tripping with a friend in the local botanical gardens at night with a cask of wine. sadly my buddy polished off most of the wine, and when the acid wore off, i was no longer with a tripping buddy, but one completely smashed on booze. getting him safely home was a hell of a mission, never again.

interesing to note the conflict between the 'just for fun' people and those who actually seek something deeper from their voyage into the other world. personally, i always experience both fun and insight during trips, largely thanks to carefully selecting the right company.

After this past weekend, I can now say that LSD and beer work well together. There was the good numbness from alcohol, the deep thoughts of acid and just an overall really good energy. I suppose a fair amount of weed aided in all this as well, lol.
