I am actually surprised that you would say that. Because you have seen and heard lies like that a thousand times is all the more reason to speak out against it.
As far as people who are interested in it finding out the truth, obviously not otherwise these forums would not be full of such bullshit questions about the myths surrounding drugs.
I don't nor have I ever advocated drug use by a pregnant woman. Here is another news flash for ya, there is also strong evidence that a man who drinks regularly can also lead to birth defects in a child fathered by him.

Neodude for you to agree with those type of scare tactics and propagating lies as opposed to truth is really a shame. Do you not realize that it is exactly that type of practice of lies and your accepting attitude that has led to the current state of affairs concerning drugs in the U.S. ?

It's that same lazy attitude that has led to such atrocities in the world like the AIDS epidemic in Africa, The various genocides throughout history, and the current war on drugs that has caused the death of countless thousands of people and kids, and the enormous financial burden it imposes.

THE END DOES NOT JUSTIFY THE MEANS!!!!!!

I really am completely dumbfounded that you actually said that.
I have lost all respect for you neodude and you have proven yourself to be completely ignorant and uneducated concerning these issues.:(

Learn the history concerning drugs and the laws about them and the facts of what drugs do before you open your mouth next time.

A lot of people in these forums, I think you as well, talk about RC's a lot. I think it's foolish to dabble in them mainly because they don't have the same history of study and testing as the classic psychedelics do. You may be condemning your future children to a life of misery be using RC's. Have you ever considered that?

I'm very sorry to hear that. My heart goes out to you and your child as well as your ex.
As a father of six I can completely sympathize with you. As I said I'm totally opposed to drug usage during pregnancy.
I am just a very strong believer in the truth about drugs. Actually most kids when given the facts about drugs make smart choices about them.
It's when they discover that they have been lied to by those in a position of authority for example about marijuana, that they then discount ALL the things they have been told about drugs.
I am completely honest with my kids about drugs, the good and the bad, and I am confident that I don't have to worry about them in that regard.

Here is a paper by Stanislav Grof that summarizes a lot of the research done on LSD in regards to birth defects:
    http://www.druglibrary.org/schaffer/lsd/grofchro.htm

Here is the summary conclusion, but I recomend reading the entire thing if concerned about it, especisally you neodude, you got to start your education somewhere:

"There is no clinical or experimental data demonstrating that LSD has carcinogenic properties, as suggested by some of the early studies. No increase in the incidence of tumors among LSD users has ever been detected. Case reports of leukemia and malignant tumors in the population of LSD users have been exceedingly rare. In the three existing case reports of leukemia, there has been no proof or even indication of a causal relationship, and the association of leukemia with LSD use may have been merely a coincidence.
As this review shows, no convincing experimental or clinical evidence exists to prove that the commonly used dosages of pure LSD produce genetic mutations, congenital malformations or malignant growths. As far as illicit LSD is concerned, the situation is much more complex, and the results of the studies of illicit LSD users should not be considered relevant to the question of the biological dangers of LSD. Uncertainties about the dosage, and the contamination of black-market samples of psychedelic drugs by various impurities and additives contribute a very important dimension to the already serious psychological hazards associated with unsupervised self-experimentation.
There is absolutely no indication in the research data currently available that responsible experimental and therapeutic use of LSD by experienced professionals should be discontinued. "

    Thankyou :cheers2:

I'm appalled at how that guy uses those pictures and makes irrational connections between different drugs by virtue of how he organised the pages. He provides absolutely no supporting documentation whatsoever.
It makes me think of Reefer Madness or how "Cocaine Crazed Niggers are raping white women" (no offense intended to anyone of color, just quoting old headlines).
That type of scare tactic has been used time and again over the last 100 years. When are people going to wake up and stop accepting such crap.
Same goes for the so called "War on Terror"
Fucking wake up people and question what your being told. It's the information age, well get the information and make use of it!

Because for the amount of these substances Prone claims to use then he should educate himself more thoroughly about them. The facts are no further away then a persons keyboard.
My main hostility is at the propagation of blatant lies and the lackadaisical acceptance of such.

    more info

All I did was google LSD and birth defects and came up with over 79,000 results.
It isn't that difficult to educate yourself about drugs or any other damn thing nowadays.

but that's what he is trying to do, further educate himself on the topic. that's why he asked the question. now without all of the name calling, the information you handed him would have been totally great.

He should have already known these facts before he ever took his first hit.
I always researched anything I considered putting into my body before I do it, and it's a lot easier today then it was when I was first taking LSD. Do you learn the facts and not just what someone posts here before you take a substance?
The only time I didn't was the first time I took PCP and I thoroughly regretted not knowing anything about it. I just accepted what I was told and spent the next two days in hell.

My main thing is KNOW THE FACTS THEN YOU CAN WEED OUT THE LIES!!!!

well, just because YOU do research before hand doesn't mean everyone else does. reality is that people get the drugs, know some stuff about them, and if they really dig them they learn deep into them. before i've done certain drugs i had read on them, but if it's a spur of the moment thing you can't read too much. don't preach man... i mean suggesting is another thing, suggestions are cool... but being told what to do especially in a rude manor is totally not the way to go

But they should especially when the information is just a few keystrokes away.

I knew more about LSD by the time I was 14, long before the internet, then a large number of people who frequent these forums exhibit.
I have taken things on the spur of the moment, and later wish I hadn't.

Ignorance is inexcusable in the world we live in today. Especially when it concerns your own health and well being.
If you can post in these forums then you can get the facts about these topics. Thats all I'm saying.
Frankly a lot of disinformation abounds in these forums.

The really bad thing about it is that most major birth defects, especially those affecting internal organs and the nervous system occur in the first trimester and even in the first days of pregnancy when most women don't even suspect that they are pregnant.

The best course of action is to abstain from ALL drugs legal or illegal as well as caffiene and many other foods if you are trying to get pregnant. If you are not actively trying to have a baby and party a bit then for the potential baby's sake practice good birth control.
Also make sure to get regular pre-natal check-ups and take the appropriate dietary supplements and watch your diet. Malnutrition accounts for more birth defects and problem pregnancies than any other factor.

How many times in this thread have I said it is best to stay away from ALL drugs when pregnant or trying to conceive? MANY!

The research would suggest that taking a normal, about 100-150ugs, dose of acid in later stages of pregnancy would most likely do no harm. I still very strongly advise against it. It can and does cause uterine contractions and can induce premature labor. That is one of the main medical uses of the ergot derivatives that Hoffman developed when he discovered LSD.

Did you read the paper I linked too by Dr. S. Grof ?
This is what I mean, you would rather have me or someone else tell you the answer rather than research it yourself.
The horror stories we've all heard have been proven to be false in regards to LSD causing birth defects. It is no more risky than aspirin, actually less so.

The biggest problem is that the most severe damage is done in the very early stages of pregnancy when most women don't even know they are carrying a new person inside of them.
So raz if you want to have a baby stay away from everything legal or otherwise. Get regular pre-natal care and a good diet.
This is coming from a father of 6 who was very involved with each of my wifes pregnancies.

If you aren't trying to get pregnant are sexually active and like to party than for gods sake use good birth control because by the time you find out you are pregnant it may already be to late.

Just trying to put some useful FACTS out there.:cheers2:

I'm at peace with it. There is always going to be scare tactics and misinformation out there, and you getting angry and double posting this thread to hell while ending all your sentences with exclamation marks isn't going to change it. The only time I have a problem with them is when they represent a sentiment that I actually disagree with. The individual who made that article is essentially saying that taking LSD while pregnant is bad. I agree. Case closed.
Like I said, for those who want the truth, it is out there, and it is very easily obtained, as you have so gently pointed out in this thread.
For those who don't want the truth, there is nothing you can do.

I'm ignorant and uneducated because I don't share the same opinion as you about this? And now I need to fulfill a requirement before I am again allowed to "open my mouth"?
I'm sure this kind of attitude is WONDERFUL for "truth-spreading", but in this setting it's totally uncalled for. If you can't learn to disagree without antagonizing people then please do not respond to me again.

Once again, in your fervor to pass judgment on me, have made a completely unjustifiable assumption.
I have never used any RCs.

It's that attitude of acceptance of deceitful practices that got me upset towards you. I agree with the sentiment, but presenting factual evidence about using any drugs during pregnancy would achieve the same ends.
When lies are presented as fact when the truth is discovered all the good that could have been achieved gets lost as well. That is why the DARE and JUST SAY NO programs were a complete failure. they told kids a bunch of lies and half truths.
That is not just my opinion, that is fact.

I do apologize for the intensity of the above statements.
I just think that as a young man in America who does enjoy using certain substances you would show more concern for how they are portrayed to the general public. To say that all the disinformation is ok with you because you agree with the sentiment is, in my opinion, a very unenlightened position to take.
Does that mean that if you are opposed to illegal aliens in this country that you would condone shooting people that cross the border as some extremist want to do because you agree with the root sentiment? (just an example, I know nothing of your views regarding illegal aliens.)

Let me explain that my anger about what to you seems a trivial thing is because YOU and your generation are the ones who are going to inherit the crippling debt this country is incurring due to the "war on drugs" and "war on terrorism". Both of those supposed "wars" have failed to accomplish anything accept eroding YOUR civil and constitutional rights and putting YOU in debt.
That is compounded by the fact that all the horrors that they claim would happen, both concerning drugs and terrorism, have failed to materialize.
They both rely on lies and contrived facts to instill fear in the general populous in order to achieve thier goals which are for the most part very self serving and not in YOUR best interest.
Would you deny a cancer patient access to medical marijuana? I doubt you would, I believe you to be a more sympathetic and compassionate person than that.
But your acceptance of the tactics used by the individual that composed that web "hub" would say different.

I recant calling you ignorant and uneducated, but I feel maybe you aren't considering the complete ramifications of those type of tactics.

Multiple tens of billions of dollars are wasted every year to support this "war on drugs", a debt that you and my children will be dealing with long after I'm dead and gone. Web sites that propagate that type of misinformation and lies only helps to increase that debt. Wouldn't that money be better spent to provide scholarships to you and others your age or decent health care for those who can't afford it?
Please understand my anger over this goes much much deeper than just what some asshole puts on a website.
You do see that don't you?

Please consider the whole picture, not just one specific thing that you happen to agree with. I feel I stated very clearly my opinion about drug use by women who are pregnant or trying to conceive. We are in agreement on that point.

Again, my apologies. I did say I thought you said you used them, my mistake.
Please don't start using RC's and stick to substances that have a long history of use in humans and research concerning the long term effects.
