I cant really say the use of LSD has helped me fully give up drinking but it has offered me insight into my addictions and may have been a catalyst in my recent attempts to cut back on my addictive consumption of certain things such as alcohol.
I think LSD helps you by letting you think about that sort of choice, but also simply shows you something better, and you feel good knowing that you don't crave it and it can't control you, despite the fact that it is much more enjoyable AND powerful than alcohol. However, living like THAT, she'd probably rather live as an alter-ego, as you said. Quadruple her dose and report back.
Well she might start slowing down on her drinking. Most people who drink have blood sugar imbalance and it is dangerous for them to abruptly stop drinking. I think LSD has helped many an exotic dancer stop drinking. Many of them are very in touch with their bodies and they will be around other women who are very aware of their bodies. In that biz you can tell who takes care of themselves and who don't real easy. Drinking ages you fast exotics go down fast in looks if they drink. Most who take care of themselves end up getting out sooner too. I hope she does quit drinking.
give anyone enough LSD and theyll question even the logic between which shoe should go on first. the practice of LSD being used to treat addiction I have to say is better than ANY form of sober treatment. a large part in dropping an addiction is displacement, which is why Christianity is so heavily tied to AA meetings. give someone LSD and I believe theyll quit anything if they had to then again I also believe that the president of the US should be required to consume a large dose of LSD once a month, or once every two. could almost guarantee success
all i have to say to this study is, duh. anytime I trip on anything I don't want to put anything toxic in my body for weeks following the trip.
Mah, some things don't even call. Only if shit's hitting the fan, and not many people will admit that so most people don't consciously realise they have a problem. I "don't" Fukc it, too fun
Remember that these studies were done when the intent and purpose of dealing with the subjects addiction. A LOT of counseling and preparation and follow up was part of the entire process. Somebody just dropping a couple of hits may or may not arrive at the same result, most likely not. So anecdotal stories are just that, anecdotal. that is why it's great to see a compilation and analysis of the many varied studies that were done during the hey-day of clinical research with LSD, Thank You Humphrey Osmond. Do you folks know that Bill Wilson, the founder of Alcoholics Anonymous, was given LSD in the 1950's and became a very outspoken proselytizer for LSD therapy and LSD in general, he absolutely loved the stuff.
Ibogaine has shown best results with opiate addiction, because not only does it provide the subject with insight into the why's and wherefore's of their addiction, it seems to also short circuit withdrawal symptoms. In alcohol addiction I don't think it has had as good of success as with opiates.
Riiight,,,, never said it was ideal but then neither is LSD in the "qick cure" OTC type of way society will truly be looking for, pop now and stay sober in 4 hours kind of packages otherwise folks will simply loose their atten,,,, anyway,,,, there are many approaches, not taking the cap off the fucking bottle makes for a nice start, but if you have something like ibogaine already giving you the DT's in a way,,, maybe with additional sorts of behavioral modification methods added, binaural light and sound and tactile as well,,, a little Hang on,,, let me get my head gear,,, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuohJDyYnlE&feature=related"]A ClockWork Orange, Ultra Violence - YouTube Ultraviolence and killing and DWI related homicides,,,Hell yea.
P.S. Ziggy Popacapolis is actually suggesting LSD be used to treat Auspergers and Autism, imagine that huh? A drug which makes you more socially aware might actually HELP those who have issues of that nature??? OMGZ!!! Whoda' thunkit?!? http://autismawarenesspage.com/?p=336 :cheers2:
this turned up after a quick search. http://www.newser.com/story/141404/lsd-helps-alcoholics-quit-booze.html After taking the drug, "many patients claim that they get significant insights into their problems, that they get a new perspective on their problems and motivation to solve them," one of the study's authors says. "It also seems that some people are prepared to be more self-accepting, and able to see negative consequences and happenings in their own lives." personally i can say that sometimes after using lsd that i just didn't feel the need to use the substances that i had previously been using. i was content to just be sober. especially after tripping as many times as i have now i don't even like alcohol. actually it's pretty disgusting. wheras at one point i liked it.
DESOS!! Where ya been? Haven't seen you around these parts for a while. Hope all is going good for you. I agree about the booze.
hey smith! had a run in with some pseudo-hippie preachers but now that i have escaped them i should be around the forums more.
Yeah I do remember you mentioning it before. So you just swished their kool-aid around for a taste but didn't actually swallow.:2thumbsup:
