Lucy's a silly little diamond. She needs to shake those locks out in the open. WOW! washing made such a difference. They actually look like locks now instead of waxy sticks. Just keep up what you're doing, hon. They're going to rock!
Nice start! yeah not to jump on you about the wax...no worries. It will wash out. I had about that much on mine when I first started and it came out in a few months. You're going to love them!
hey. a little update.. had mye dreadlock for 25 days now.. washed them maybe 5-6 times during this period, and palmrolled all of them at least once every day. i think i maybe wash them too often, but the temptation is too much to handle when i wake up on a sunday morning, smelling of beer and cigarettes. they are starting to tighten quite well in the middle of the dreads.. the tips on some are quite loose, but it doesnt look too bad. some of you maybe remember my wax problem. that is looking a lot better now, even after only 5-6 washes. its still wax in my hair, but very few real chunks of wax like i had in the beginning. a lot more loose hairs at the roots now tough. have to get that sorted soon, but i have not had the patience to sit and thread i trough my dreads or make a ball to put in the roots (as that are the methods ive picked up to deal with this. any tips?). looks like i have a halo on my head when standing in the sun. having a halo isnt bad =P for the time beeing im really really happy with the progress, i love how they evolved in only this short period of time. and yeah, here are some new pictures
more pictures.. i was full of energy this morning, even tough i only slept 2 hours. so i found an old t-shirt, ripped it to pieces, and then proved to myself that im horrible with needle and thread.. but even tough it sure is not a work of art, and could be made better, i still managed to make myself a headband that im happy with.. think its enough left of the t-shirt to make 1 more. here are the pictures
wow man they look really great! i'm jealous! I'm just not ready to let my dreads loose yet. I have a coupleof times, but i personally just think i look cuter when they're tied back.
dude, i made like the exact same wrap and am wearing it today. awesome! your dreads are looking really great.
showing u some new pics.. had my locks for 2 months now. this turned out to be a really shitty dread-day, but i decided to post the pictures anyway. its not like my objective is trying to impress you guys, so i might as well show my hair on a bad day too. and yeah, sorry for all the mess on my room, its exam-time, i should be excused =P i just decided tonight is dread maintenance night =P
funny how some people ALWAYS look so good on pictures, and some people just look weird. i guess those of us that just look weird can try to pretend we look better face to face
Man, your dreads are amazing. I'm EXTREMELY jealous, I wish mine looked like that. How many do you have, just out of curiosity?
about 60.. i get different number every time, but always close to 60. thanks for the support. ill try to keep posting on this thread every now and then, and maybe one day in the far future i can post and say i have mature dreads. but until then i can at least show the progress. doesnt change much from day to day now tough, except for more and more anoying distance between the roots and where the dreading start. have to find a way to deal with that soon
Wow, your dreads have lost some of their tightness but they look so much healthier! I've been dreaded for about four days now, used shit loads of wax. They just look dirty and unclean. I'll wash them in three more days though with water hotter than hell. I'm real glad I found this site, I would've been screwed if I kept going the way I was.
just found a nice way to fix loose hairs at roots. dont know if this is common knowledge, but what i do is roll loose hairs between fingertips until it forms a ball, and stuff it in the roots. it works wonders. ill try to get some new pics up soon, as it really helps, and less loose hairs at roots now
