I reeeeeally wouldn't want my fb family/friends to know about hf. This is my little secret corner of the internet. Most of them have never heard of hf, and I'd like to keep it that way.
those little F's and T's are all over the place on other sites, meaningless unless you click on them..
Yeah, as an european I am not that busy with your country's NSA. I don't get why that pic is in that post but I like it anyway :2thumbsup:
I'm blisfully unaware of that :sunny: They can't get to me through facebook though, unless it gets connected in some ways to this site perhaps.
RA, you cantankerous old fuck. As per usual, you seize upon a word or phrase in someone's post, and then make the most negative assumption. Saying that site content and moderation policy are more relevant to site traffic than tech issues is not a complaint. It's a statement of fact. So generally speaking, for any forum, site traffic is going to be governed primarily by 3 things 1. User awareness of a site 2. User interest in site content 3. Accessibility of content to a user The tech upgrades may help with site accessibility, but not so much with interest and awareness. As far as moderation policy goes, it may be worthwhile to reconsider policy on trolling. Some troll threads are just annoying, but often troll threads, while obviously fake, also raise interesting issues. Not banning benign trolls and not locking/deleting benign troll threads might help boost the post count, and keeping the post count high creates a positive feedback loop. It's also noteworthy that HF has 272,737 members to date. Even if we assume that half of those members are spammers, trolls, or LEO's, that's still leaves only about .01% of people who join this site that post on a regular basis. Figuring out why so many people who join don't stay has a lot more to do with site traffic and the survival of HF than tech issues.
