for me, if i really want to experience the full effects of the high, i need a couple things perfect:
    1. i gotta be by myself. friends are fun to be around to, but they seem to lower my high.
    2. the room has to be comfortable (perfect heating, comfy chair or couch or bed)
    3. absolutely no sound - yes sound can be wonderful, but to really concentrate, there can't be any sound.

that's about it. the last time those things were in order, my high was simply amazing. i find if i'm outside, i'm not close to being as high. also being in school makes me act sober, so i basically feel sober. being around parents is another thing that sobers me up. friends are fun, but they can be distracting at times.

Dude, you sound like me. :) I can feel a cup of coffee/tea.

    Though I'm not very introverted.

If you allow it to, yes. It isn't the drug doing it to you- it's you using the drug to do it to yourself.

    no way! aww damn.

I'm just being wierd, but smoking pot has become so regular and I am so used to being high, I never really seem to get smacked anymore, as opposed to when I was 15 when it was intense as hell.

imo some individuals are simply not the right people to smoke weed
ive met many actually where it just produces an uncomfortable high
to me this would be the definition of alcohol
ive had some crazy fun times when ive been drunk
but other times i feel like nothing is going my way and for the most part i feel like shit
but with weed ive never really felt uncomfortable
its always been a nice way to control stress and to have fun at the same time
so i shall continue to smoke until i feel the need to stop
remember, you never know what is enough, until you know what is more than enough

I used to think weed was like nothing, just a good time, but I always felt fine the next day. Then in College I thought I needed it just to be myself. Then without even realizing it I had become a complete stoner. Most of my friends were only my friends because of weed. I stopped hanging with my real pals just so I could get high. I started smoking all day everyday. Couldn't eat, sleep, have sex, do homework, play music, play basketball, etc...without being high. Lost touch with family. Didn't return phone calls. I was a total loser...And of course, not because of weed but because of my choices. The Bud didn't help any though.
Anyway, I decided to quit cold turkey and get some sort of a life back together. A few months after that I moved overseas and met a girl who smoked weed. We had a joint together and I tripped out like I never had before in my life. I was paranoid, hearing evil voices and shit, had an out of body experience and was just all around frightened, and probably very frightening for her...I don't know what the fuck happened. It was like I was schizophrenic while I was high. Not cool. I never thought of weed as a serious drug until that day. Now I know better.

All that being said, in moderation its fine. But when you start smoking everyday, and you're not even aware of the effects its having on you, thats when it can be dangerous. Just never abuse drugs, not even weed.

Sorry to hear that man. It does tend to make you over analyze things. The fact is though, and its something Ive learned from experience...Most instances of substance abuse stem from a personality defect, and on top of that, those insecurities that many people mask with drugs or alcohol or sex or whatever, those can actually become magnified with excessive use of substances such as Marijuana. I doubt that weed has left your brain incapable of getting out of the rut its in. The solution is still in you. It might be tackling your fears head on, or building your self confidence in a healthy way, but believe me its nothing you can't overcome. Good luck

The first time I smoked really strong weed some crazy, crazy shit began surfacing from the depths. There was a fucked up cartoon incarnation of one of my relatives blowing her own brains out with a shotgun, while this sound was repeating, this disgusting Looney Tunes death scream.

It was like a really twisted ytmnd site playing in my brain, over and over.

The subconscious can be a very frightening place. For me at least. And that episode was well before drug use or even much drinking.

I don't think that psychedelic drugs drive people crazy who aren't there already, I think they just allow us to see and ideally understand the conditions that prevent us from living as we really desire to.

uhh nice try, but drugs can make people go crazy. Yea, you have to have the groundwork for mental illness, but it doesn't mean you were "already there" by a longshot.
