Actually, only 5% of weed grown in BC ends up in the US and a small portion grown in Ontario and Quebec probably ends up there too. The other provinces aren't as populated and I'm willing to bet most weed grown in the other provinces, remains there. Getting caught at the border just isn't worth it. If it's legalized, I can see prices doubling here when purchasing through stores. Right Now I can pay anywhere from 180-220 per oz of dank, depending on person and season. I'm sure the government will have no problem ripping us off as they do with liquor...nearly $30 for a 24 of decent beer is far too much. I won't be supporting the government, I will be growing my own.
i think it should be completely legalized, who knows, if the government sold it they might put some weird chemicals in it just like they do in cigarettes. People should be allowed to grow it themselves if they want to so that they know whats in it. i would feel a lot more comfortable if i were able to grow my own and know exactly what i did to it rather than buying it, that way i'd know there's no weird chemicals and shit in it.
The problem (one of them, anyway) with weed being illegal is that the current standard prices ($45-50 1/8th) are ridiculous. Thats what happens when a market isn't regulated. Weed is worth more ounce for ounce then gold because these prices were created and standardized by people just trying to make bank. I'd guess that when weed is legalized prices will drop dramatically. Also, saying that weed shouldn't be legalized because it'll give the government money is a pretty narrow minded statement. What about all the people who grow? They shouldn't be punished because they don't buy weed from someone else.
no, you are wrong. my simple explanation for it is, even IF the government taxed the shit out of weed, it would still be cheaper then it is now. Simple as that. dealing with an illegal substance jacks the price up. its just a goddamn plant, and you pay more then gold for it (or something like that so i hear) its GOOD that they would make money off of it. i think good weed would go UP. small time dealers now, dont have anything good to offer, they are the ones who charge the most, unless you are talking about like a legal small time buisness type thing, then they wouldnt be wiped out. ive discussed this on another forum, and we thought that it would be pretty hard to have any type of good quailty weed from a big buisness. mids would probably be the only thing you can get from them because its not so high quality, doesnt need as much care ect. and as for growing, simply put they can just say you need a license, and well if you grow with out one you get a fine. and probably (idk this is just me making shit up) they could say no selling unless you have a license for that also, or maby only to a certain amount ect. but you would have to leave all thoes details to law makers and yes you shuold be able to grow it because you could grow your own tobacco and brew your own beer, or make wine.
damn idk what you get. 45-50 for 1/8 of what??? mids? if so i wouldnt even be smoking. round here its like $20-25 for decent mids. (because here its decriminalized) REGULATE THE MARKET!!!! for sure. and yes the price deffinatley will drop dramatically EVERYWHERE. and also i forgot to add about how shit is fucked up in states with out decrim, i cant believe the penaltys, and shit like that. Way to harsh. Also i was gonna post about i believe cali is trying to pass legalizing marijuana. for everyone. read about it on grasscity.com idk if its been posted on here before, but theyre looking for signatures/ people.
marijuana should be legal, but the only way to keep prices down would be to buy it from mom and pop shops, not places like walmart or target. The government would tax it, but its better than jail risk. As long as the govt are best buddies with the alcohol industry, (who , btw, pay for those anti pot adds that equate pot with a total decay of moral value,) pot will never be legal.
I really don't think it would be mids at that price. Ohio has a lot of mids and yeah $20-25 seems to be the price here. but that dank can be a bit more than that.
^Bingo I would just add that MJ is a weed so it can grow almost anywhere. Seriously you can grow the stuff in your backyard. If the government were to legalize MJ, I'm sure there would be more than a handful of people willing to grow their own. Then again they would never legalize in on such a scale, the best us Americans can hope for atm anyways is for decriminalization. Though legalization would crush or at least dent the Mexican Drug Cartel business.
I really wouldn't mind paying taxes on weed. At least then it's going into things that help our country (I would hope). As it is my money is going to skeeze bags who are also getting my money via food stamps, wellfare and medicaid, and their 20 illigitimate kids too.
It would be way cheaper even with the taxes, unless they are going to tax weed 4000%. The dealers are making a killing on weed prices. People seem to forget that weed is just a plant and what mass growing can do to prices. Almonds are one of the most expensive common crops in America and they only go for around 5$ per pound. Berries and Grapes, the most expensive common fruits go for around 2$ a pound. Cigarette tobacco goes around 12-20$ a pound, same for a pound of Hops. However weed checks in at 1000$ per pound, when most other herbs go for 1-20$ a pound. If weed was mass grown, there's no reason we shouldn't be able to go to the store and pick up a pound of weed for 20$. Even if it was taxed with a higher % than any other plant, it would not be over 100$ a pound. No one who is pro-weed should be against legalization, unless they are a dealer/grower who is getting a chunk of this unfair profit margin.
.... i think it would be over $100 a pound. And idk what your talking about but i think tobacco would be more, or atleast it is once it gets in the market. try buying 1 lb of rolled cigs in a pack. that would be alot of money. Same with weed, it needs trimmed and cured and quality varys. But, i do agree as iI said before, it would be WAY cheaper. less then half the price it is now, for sure. No one who is pro-weed should be against legalization, unless they are a dealer/grower who is getting a chunk of this unfair profit margin cant say it any better then that. I would only say dealer though. Growers probably wouldnt mind if it was legal becuase they would still be able to grow. Even if they make less money. Heck, if I grew I know I wouldnt mind not being able to sell it. Then again, BIG time growers, would probably mind becuase thats not for personal use. :toetap05:
idk, i think it can get up there when your in a state with harsh penaltys. Dank ive seen $10 a gram, so $35 an 1/8, and some people pay 35 for 1/8 of mids. meh.
