south london here, too. but not like heavy sounds more cockney than proper south (much more likely to go "ya knawha'ahmsayin, mate?" than "yougetme?" lol), and its just a light twang, not too heavy. as far as we were concerned, spliffs and joints were exactly the same thing, there was no difference in the meaning, sjust that we always rolled with tobacco and americans didn't. but you could, for example have a "pure spliff" and itd still be a spliff. tbh tho we tended to say "j" more than spliff and that was short for joint, and normally we put baccy in it. lets call the whole thing off.
Dude, I just watched Adulthood, and I've changed my mind about London accents -- some of them are pretty fucking weird.
in sheff its called weed, green or bud. Solid (hashish) is called draw or solid er cos its solid or theres the lovely squidgy black that was erm squidgy cant get that anymore. Spliffs n joints are the same thing n no1 in sheff uses the word blunt. We also call spliffs biftas but dunno if that just a sheffield thing. hence my name. Also ppl that roll spliffs with hand rolling tobacco instead of cigarette tobacco should be ashamed and disgusted with themselves - its nasty lol
Right *racks brains* commen terms are... Weed can be known as; grass, green, bud, skuff (weak -typically leaves), skunk/cheese/*insert strong weed-variety here* (strong - but don't believe the variety name!) Solids can be known as; resin, soap-bar, pollen, hash, sticky-black (or a variety of other "brand names"!) Both can be known as; pot, marijuana, dope, mary jane, ganja Also subtle names sometimes used can include gardening (green), henry (an eighth...but can just mean green) and smoke. A joint or spliff is green or solid mixed with backy as a spicy cigerette! Blunts are either pure green rolled normally, or green rolled in a cigar-casing.
shrub, cro, draw, spliff (the substance as well as a joint, as in u got any spliff?) also ben= a 16th thirties= an eight plus a sixteenth, used to be birthday buy- eigth for the night and a ben for the morning q-quarter 0-ounce yeah we have bifta in london too, but we generally only use it in the phrase "beddtime bifta"
I've never been to the UK, but on all the tv's shows I watch, especially Skins, everbody calls it spliff. I love that word... spliff.
In england we have loads. For the actual weed itself: Bud Ganj Ganja Mary Jane Weed Green Bag Marry Ju Wanna Peng Ched As for the joints: Joint Spliff Zoot Bifta Rollie Big Skinner L Build 2 skinner Then in measurements we have: 1 gram = a 10 bag, so 2 grams = a 20 bag Out of an Ounce you can buy an ounce, half ounce, a quart (or a Q). Hope this helped :afro:
