The problem is the the vast majority of people don't care. It would take a literal revolution to change things. The government in this country pushes it's own citizens around in the same way today. All the government has to do is point the finger at someone today and they're 'guilty'-there's no more due process, rights of the accused, nothing. Do you know that advocacy groups in the US that had the money and the will, using DNA evidence, were able to exonerate almost 150 people that were on death row, that had been wrongly convicted? How in the world does any civilized legal system wrongly convict that many people, much less sentence them to death? Sadly, many of those people didn't live to see themselves exonerated. The real sad fact of the matter is that the government in the US, along with the majority of the people, has lost any real sense of right and wrong. They don't care whether innocent people are convicted, or whether nations are unjustly invaded and hundreds of thousands of people are killed. That's the American answer for every problem today, whether real or imagined-either put people in jail or kill them, and then wave the flag and talk about how America's the 'greatest country on earth.' I agree with voodoo chile-America makes me sick, too.

I find it very sad that the young people we are sending over there are operating in this manner. We call them "heroes", when they shoot the unarmed and innocent. We make excuses for them. There is no excuse for this sort of behavior.

beheading anyone is it?
Come on Cat - show us where your sympathy really lies
and stop trying to infect these kids with a feeling of guilt about
being western. How about giving muslim kids a sense of guilt for
for praising videos of beheadings and torture -

How about if you stop aligning with the islamic politics and
get back to religion - which islam is supposed to be good at
perhaps then you may have a chance of doing some good
but you are just posting this rubbish to impress a few impressionable
people who havent learnt that both sides are equally bad.
If you are gonna stop fascism - kids - start with religion - tear it down

You know, Dr. Phibes that's a whole different subject. I'm not supporting Muslims that behead people with my tax money, nor am I expected to support them by my government. I am, however, at least theoretically expected to support what my government is doing in Iraq (which I refuse to do). It's certainly a valid question (that would require a different thread to talk about) as to whether Isalm really supports or believes in terrorism. That's just not the subject of this thread. It would, however, be a very interesting subject to pursue.

as i've said before
it is ok to kill someone but it is not ok to villify them before you kill them.
this is the kind of world where we live.

try it out for yourself. ask someone about iraq, ask them if "unfortunately civillians will get killed?", then ask them if racial villification of the arabs is ok. you will get a strong reaction to this. it is politically correct to kill someone but not ok to racially villify them.
