I'm a Brit not a Yank lol....we beg to differ, but as a former chemistry student, it is interesting to know how these things are made. Like it or not the law will always be broken, its up to us to choose our own path to enlightenment.

i do apologize, meant to strike out the word "you" in my post because my reference to the constitution is aimed at the american poster who are threw it up to me in the first place.

and i agree, there may be a lot of newbies in here (looks at myself) but i dont see any trolling, i just see a lot of them being stupid and making comments that are just rediculous.....to be expected.

Since this thread has steered way off topic. I figured I'd bring it back.

I'm married...been married for a year, now. We weren't going to get married since neither of us really care, but we did it for the benefits he gets from the govt for his service.

We are happy, though...we don't have much, nor do we need much and we are really unlike any couple I know. We spend a lot of time apart/doing our own things, but we meet up in the middle at some point and really enjoy each other's company when those moments happen.

He's not overseas now, but he does go overseas often. He's been just about everywhere in the world except Africa. He's going to be doing more stateside stuff in the future.

that's just it. if most new sellers you came across ended up scamming you, you would probably be a bit wary.

a troll is someone who tries to provoke other posters. insulting is just one method of trolling.

98% was of course an exaggeration.

I've been with my old lady/ girlfriend going on 8 years in November. We have our good days and our bad days, but at the end of the day we always kiss each other goodnight and cuddle. The secret to a good relationship is honesty, loyalty and never go to bed mad. Oh and cooking a good meal for your spouse/partner every once in a while helps also ;)

so you will be seeing a lot more of him i take it, or will his stateside work still entail being away from home for lengthy periods of time ???

this is not a "pop shot" at you in any way, but im just curious why some guys refer to their wife/partner/girlfriend as "old lady" or "the missus" (as they are called in australia) i think its somewhat disrespectful to be honest, because i dont have any problems referring to my wife as "my wife" or "my partner"

maybe it has something to do with ignorance, maybe its the "macho" thing to say in front of your mates, or is it because you really do have no respect for your wife/partner/girlfriend.

personally i believe it is a combination of all 3, and i have a lot less respect for a guy who does'nt show some respect to his "other half" and refers to her in such a way.

    just my opinion :)

i do get your point. i do not have an ebay account, but if i did, i would only make small purchases from new members. likewise, if i were a banker, i would only give a small loan to someone with no credit. it's the same here, if a new poster seems reasonable in their first post, i'll assume that they're probably for real but i won't open up too much to them right off the bat.

I've been married for 14 years. We have 3 kids.

We're pretty happy, nothing major to report.

sorry but i deleted the comments you are referring above from my previous post because i could see this off topic debate dragging on forever, but i hope i made my point clear at least, and i do understand your points above, so on that note, maybe we get back on topic and leave this other topic for another time.

    cheers

He can be gone for a few days or a few years if he's stateside...all depends on what he has to do.

And by the way, Mayqueen is a woman :)
