This is true. But Obama is rich and black (correction: mulatto). What does skin color have to do with anything? McCain and Obama are both elitists, and neither could care less about the average, working class American (white or black). They are sure good at pretending they are, though.
I'm pretty sure people stopped using the word mulatto 100 years ago. Between McCain and Obama, I tend to favour Obama. EDIT: Jee, I dunno what race has to do with it. But every President in US history has been white. I think there's a strong relation to race in that fact. (fetches the gloves)
My best friend going back to high school is mulatto, and he refers to himself as mulatto. What else would you call a person who is white and black?
People not only use it to describe someone who's black and white, at least not in DR, but also to describe a skin tone. I had friends who referred to me as india or mulata, in a loving manner. Though none of my parents is white, I guess my dad is closer to being black, but his mom is not black. I guess we are all mulatos in my family
I think people of a particular racial background have a right to self-determination. And Obama considers himself black. You apparently say he's mulatto. This argument is making my mind drift towards thoughts of Michael Jackson, and that is just wrong...
So if I choose to not call myself white, is that OK? Instead I'll call myself gooblygobbly. I don't say Obama is mulatto. He is mulatto. His mother was white and his daddy was black, thus he is mulatto. Also, I am not so sure Obama calls himself "black." Where did he say this?
According to Obama, he considers himself black. Maybe you'd like to write a letter to him and ask him for an explanation why he calls himself black instead of what you call him. If my mother was white, my father was Mexican, does that make me Hispanic in America? Honestly, you are far too quick to assign race to people who have their own unique and individualistic choice to be both Mexican, white or both. Black, white, mulatto, etc. Whichsoever they choose given their heritage. If you were born of goob Matt, I'd be fine with you calling yourself that. Goober.
