I'm not gonna bother reading the rest of the posts, but I will post a quote, that I think will solve this whole problem.

"My meat is murder, it murdered your Mum". Someone actually wrote that on a wall at school...

(BTW, I eat meat, coz it tastes nice. And human lives are worth more than animals. Flame away, hippies.)

The way we slaughter our animals causes them to become covered in fecil matter.

I don't go to fast food resturaunts. I do eat meat though, but I'd like to stop supporting the slaughter houses. I don't have much of a choice because my parents make it so often, and if I told them I wanted to become a vegitarian they'd make it more often and shove it in my face just because they are like that.

Americans have way too much meat in our diet. We should focus more on eating vegetables and not fast food and meat. It'd save many of us from heart disease (the # 1 killer of middle age Americans I believe).

A little bit of meat is fine and probably even encouragable, and its also natural. Its not natural to stuff yourself with greasy fatty foods and meats like from mcdonalds and then get 100 lbs over weight and die of heart disease.

It's definitely true that the majority of the Western World eats too much meat. Thats why there is such high rates of cancers and coronary artery disease.

Even the President of the Meat Board in America said that vegetarianism is healthier. I'm not preaching or anything, just saying facts.

My main reason for being vegan is that, every mineral and vitamin and nutrient I could get from meat and dairy, I can get from plant foods, and at the same time I'm healthier for it and not contributing to any hardship for animals. For me it was a pretty easy transition, but had some brilliant benefits.

vegearians are cool people, the benefits in helth is good also the murder of animals is quite bad people cage them treat them terribly,(that is just disgusting) also most meat is packed with anti biotics to stop the animals getting disease because they are so caged, also if everyone was vege, they'd be less poverty, because you can grow more crops in a space than you can animals and u have to feed the animals, etc. and people here say war is pointless, i disagree, america, and britain fight fo peace, if they didnt war in iraq, hussein would still be torturing his own people

Hey man, I don't have anything agains veggies. I think it's awesome, really.. But if he had come on here and presented his point in a different manner, then no one would be like this. Instead, he decided to be a dick..and so everyone else followed. At least he got us to act like him in ONE way.

The difference between people killing animals and animals killing animals is very different.....for instance, this might not apply to you all, but if your mom handed you a butcher knife and a live chicken and said "Here's dinner!" and you had to kill it and prepare it to eat it..........would you? We no longer have to kill like our fellow creatures to survive. On another note, a lion isn't exactly putting a gazelle in a cage, pumping it with steroids, and forcing it to live in it's own shit, which is what we do to cows, chickens, pigs.........and plants have no central nerve system and to compare the death of a plant to the suffering of an animal is ridiculous.

I'm vegan and I support vegetarianism 1000%. If you eat meat, you know whatever I don't really care, but don't be ignorant and make up excuses for the facts. WE ABUSE THE ANIMALS WE EAT. To anyone interested, you should read John Robbins "Diet for a New Way of Life".....it changed my life (it didn't turn me veggie because I already was when I read it but trust me it's worth your time).

funny that one who supports all this says we are not enlightened .....even hard core vegans use so much animal products it's not even funny ......maybe you thought your leather shoes came from a tree?? same as your leather belt?? how about those self adhesive stickers?? how about that cooking oil that you use to fry your vegetables?? it's like a guy i used to work with ..he was a muslim and wouldn't eat anything pork but would gulf down dozens of donuts.....maybe he thought that cooking lard came from a special well??? just maybe some of us are a bit more enlightened than you think

and as far as being handed a knife and being told to go prepare my own dinner ,i have on many occasions prepared my own meat ....and no ..not all animals are raised and killed for food as PETA would like you to believe .............you should all go live on a farm someday to really see how the whole process is done

Good stuff you say pretty much.

Yes, I could easily kill a chicken and eat it. Have done this with quail (mini-chickens) uncountable times. I agree that it is different when man kills vs when animals kill. But I still don't think you can call it murder.

Ever seen how a pig reacts to frying bacon? They go berserk.

The steak I eat is from range-fed beef, if that matters.

If all we need are plants to eat, why then are all plants deficient in at least one essential amino acid? In other words, no one plant has complete protein. Meat is complete protein. Seems like we were designed to eat it.

HAHA, click on the comic bok image so you can read it...it is to die for :D "keep your kitties and doggies hidden from daddy because he likes killing too much"...I have ZERO respect for peta, especially cause they euthanised thousands of dogs and dumped them in dumpsters...not to mention trying to traumatize kids into not eating meat

A few months ago, PETA showed up with this propaganda at a little pond here in town. Fathers out spending quality time with their sons, and catching a few trout on a Sunday afternoon. Catch and release by the way.

Single barbless hooks do not cause much of a wound. When I catch one I am going to eat, I apply my 'fishing priest' (similar to a blackjack), and the fish is rendered completely unconscious.

I love the "fish feel the pain of the hook" argument. People have obviously never seen what a fish does when you put slack in the line, it sits there. How else could a fish eat other fish with spiny fins, or crustaceans if it hurt their mouths like us. Not to mention catching the same fish on consecutive casts (when it stil had the other fly in its mouth because it was impossible to get out) :D

    silly activists

Eating other animals is all natural. I don't agree with shooting a dear with a high powered rifal though, we should have to use a bow or a spear or something, give it a chance.
