Pretty cool. Regardless of whether it's natural or not....there are some sites in South America that clearly aren't natural. Massive stones cut so perfectly square that we would have a very hard time replicating them today. There are other features that our modern tools can't produce and we don't have the technology to move some of the larger ones. And I believe that kind of rock is supposed to be the hardest known to be on Earth.

Yes, Wizard....South America is one of the places....I just cannot remember the names of some of these sites...they are long and weird names....One place has runways for landing on top of mountains and things....that cannot be reproduced today.....as we know how to do anyway.

I don't know, and neither do you. That's my point :) A lack of evidence or explanation does not by default mean that it was aliens! Or gods! lol. It means nothing other than "we don't know".

Most human knowledge before the invention of the printing press is lost by the way. Same goes for art.

The landing strips atop the mountains in Peru are particularly intriguing because the mountain peaks themselves have been completely cut off if you look at them the surrounding mountains all have their respected peaks. Where the runways are, that particular mountain peak is gone. It's an unnatural landmark.

Still not a good enough reason to invoke gods or aliens :) Still at that funny "we don't know" point that humanity finds itself in constantly throughout history. You can be one of the people who develop or fuel myth and fable or you can be a rational being, your call. It's fascinating that we are more comfortable with a constructed deity or alien civilization than we are with a "?" in our ledgers. Probably a lesson there in human ego. Better to know something, even if we made it up on the fly, then to have to admit that we don't know everything.

No, it doesn't, but I do have fun pondering all of the possibilities..... rather than being stuck here in my own earth bound shit.....:D

I choose to "fuel myths"'because it heightens my imagination and mysticism.
Call me a fool, that's fair. I probably am. At least I'm not boring, though.
Nothing more boring than someone without an imagination who suggests time and time again "I don't know but there's no evidence so I must accept science" when science barely illustrates a valid answer itself.

Mythology these days is a great way to learn the mind frame of the people at the time. Mythology these days is being held as a source of prehistoric history, much like the bible.

the question(s) is what drives us to learn, as soon as we have convinced ourselves that we know everything about something, we cease to learn any more about it

I don't know if you are being loose with your language or if you really fundamentally don't understand this point. If there's no evidence, then science has nothing to say about it. So your above statement would never be uttered by a scientist. Do you think that knowledge of truth is binary, ie, we either completely know something, or we don't know it at all? Most of our truths are partial. Probably all of them. If science "barely has an answer", then all we can say is "the evidence suggests x is the case, but there is not a lot of evidence and so this is still an open question". This is the opposite of "boring". This is the foundation of intelligence and civilization.

Truth does not exist to titilate you . . . nor should you construct models of the universe on the basis of their ability to entertain you, at least not if you want accurate models of the universe.

Let me also ask you this; who has less imagination, the person who is open to wonder and mystery, who devises experiments and goes out into the world to make observations . . . or the person who cannot stand not knowing something and so accepts the stories of his ancestors?
