I don't wear hats as a rule. I will wear a sun visor at the beach. And a tossle cap (Pittsburghese) when it's really cold. Other than that I sometimes wear this one when I take the convertible out for a spin.
Fads come and go. People don't wear spats any more either. Or women girdles. When I was a little guy in the nineteen forties--it seemed like all men wore felt hats.
Jane was just trying to be diplomatic. My comfortable old shoes are falling apart and she is always looking for new places to hide them. If I did ever buy a hat, she would probably let the cat sleep on it.
why make anything be about gender when there's no reason for it to be. "hats and spats and where you sit on, better far is woad" well ok, not the same thought. my ghees don't like me to compete, run, or wear hats. mixed metamorphic in a blender, now i'm doing it.
I was told to wear a hat out in the sun. And every now and then, if I remember, I will wear one. I am not a fan of baseball hats through. Living in a more rural area you see guys wearing them everywhere. Even inside.
bisbol caps make me think of kid gangs. when i have to for the shade, its 'straw', with a paw-scicle pinned to the side of it. summers over now so i don't expect to wear even that until it becomes summer again nest year. winter is time for water repellent light or heavy jacket with a hood. don't need no hat cause its got a hood. and lots of extra pockets so i can carry everything, all kinds of 'survival' stuff, no i don't mean arms, i mean, you know, like spare rations and odd bits of technology.
I recall a dermatologist decades ago saying on the radio that all Californians should keep half-a-dozen hats in the back seat of their cars for solar protection. Basically it's for protection against skin cancer, especially after 11 am.
I wear a baseball style cap every day. To me they are comfortable and help keep the sun out of my eyes as I typically spend a fair amount of time outdoors each day. These are the caps I wear on any given day:
Suspenders were popular when I was in high school I think cause of this guy: And these because of Olivia Newton John Even some guys were wearing them
suspenders, lol. my dad had to wear them later in life, because the shape of his body, a belt wasn't sufficient to keep his pants up.
