Okay...so lets say that a mental illness is caused by both external and internal effects.
I actually think this is true, but some people are just more resistant than the others. This may be due to the chemical balance / imbalance.

    Sure.

But people expect these meds to magically cure them just by restoring the balance.

    Which is not the reality.

Theres no medication that can magically cure anything.
    Healing is a process.

It might not be as extreme over where you live.

...but here in Gringolandia people think that taking one pill will solve all of their problems. In my opinion the drugs get in the way of the healing because people just take them instead of trying to actually change something about their life.

They are advertised as some sort of magic cure.

Well, thank God I am not in Gringolandia then. I really oppose all the pill pusher doctors. I mean, sure, sometimes meds are needed but its not the only thing people need to do to get well.
And if you take way too many pills, you get resistant.
And no, its still not as extreme over here where I live.

    Yeah.

There's a huge pill problem here.

I haven't really seen people abuse pills at such a degree anywhere else in the world.

true.. that's probably why Zoloft completely poisoned me. It seemed to help me at first but then I got completely insane.. with daily suididal tendencies.
