I saw them at Soundwave earlier this month, they were pretty awesome, with an accompanying impressive fireworks show.

It was kind of trippy though, they were headliners and it was so polished. And its been over a decade since ive seen them in concert. But i can remember a time when the were so fringe, it was so badass to be a metallica fan. At soundwave, itnwas lioe mums and dads bringing their kids.

For thos that say they sold out with the black album. Some of there previous stuff is really fuckin hard to play. Hammett was one of the few that could pull of the solo in One back then, let alone 25 years later

The fact that some of these guys can still play like that when there in their 50s is amazing, the tact that they then have to out out slower stuff shoukdnt be a surprise

 

I saw em at Soundwave too in Sydney. First time I've seen them live and I'd definitely go and see them again. I used to not like load/reload either but I've warmed to load. Reload still sucks. I think their best album is Garage Inc. lol and its not even their stuff.

 

If you only like old Metallica then you're old.

That was the first band i listened after i was over my power metal period ...
Since then, Pantera, Metallica, Judas Priest are all the things i listen to.
I love that trash sound, the heavy metal vibe and power !

 

Love Pantera, absolutely LOVE. And thank god for Metallica, if I hadn't had an older sibling who listened to Metallica when I was growing up, I fear I'd be listening to rap right now! metal up your ass to all

It's pretty clear what happened after the black album. That being said, I don't really care; they left metal and want to be alt-rock now, and it's making them millions.

I enjoy listening to Metallica on the radio sometimes. Cool sound. Like the postings.

Reminds me of Voi Vod in that way, you shouldnt really like it, but as background noise it sinks in.
