Think about it this way: If you knew your skin was going to change from black to white because of a medical problem, would you want typical black facial features? Maybe that's what he was worried about. When MJ was alive, nobody made any serious effort to try and figure out why he might be doing various things. I guess it seemed easier and more fun to assume that he did everything because he was a nut.
Yea, exactly. Although, his father reportedly made fun of his nose a lot while he was growing up... he was always self conscious and unhappy with his nose. Nothing really seemed to satisfy him. So it probably had more to do with that than worrying about how his light skin wouldn't jive with his facial features. Overall, I think MJ was a genuinely nice guy.
I'm skeptical of the more sinister accusations about Jacko, but I'm inclined to agree with the common assertion that he was a wacko. He was a 50 year old man who yearned to be a child, not in the admirable, Patch Adams sense, but in a creepy, delusional way, at the detriment of his children. You can say that it is wrong to make light of him, but to deny he wasn't extremely fucked up is just naive.
MJ started getting nose surgery before he developed the skin disease, unless you believe he really broke his nose. And apparently it wasn't his Dad that made fun of his nose, it was his brothers. My own personal theory is that he wanted to look like Diana Ross, not literally in that way, but that was his idea of beauty, he always thought she was beautiful and if you look at his face, there's some striking similarities to it.
Apparently he and his sister had similar taste. He and Janet looked a lot alike, for a few years before things started unraveling for him. I know she had a nose job; not sure if she had anything else. I've always thought she was beautiful.
