microwave ovens

Ive stopped eating food from the microwave, ive read that it kills the nutrients in the food too. Dr. Weil in his dvd "Eating well for optimal health" suggests not using them for long term cooking as it changes the protein composition of the food. I made a bunch of stir fry the other week and microwaved some left overs and I noticed when I went to lift weights I didnt have any real energy I felt like I had a lump in my stomach. Then I just ate some cold and felt much better. I dont know im no scientist but Im never using a microwave again.

 

GENITICALLY-MODIFIED (GM) foods are probably worse to eat than microwaved foods, especially when you combine fish genes into tomatoes, or any other genes, for desired effects. Rats love to eat tomatoes, but will totally avoid GM tomatoes. In some experiments, GM food caused animal and people to become ill, or die, but I'm not going to discuss GM foods, but point out that they are obviously moleculary different from their natural versions. But is microwaved food and/or water changed moleculary, somehow? And do these changes effect our health, in a negative way?

The "Microwaved Water" article (mentioned above) is obviously somewhat flawed with scientific "controls" and "procedures". It should be redone, properly.

EllisDTripp, in his post on this thread, mentions: "Also missing is any kind of chemical anaylsis of the water and soil used on the 2 plants. Rat seems to be claiming some kind of "molecular change" took place in the microwaved water. If that was true, then the "changed" molecules WOULDN'T BE WATER ANYMORE, and should show up clearly by chemical analysis."

Microwaves effects on food and water may be with "field effects" and "bond angle changes". Magnetism has been known to change the properties of water. South pole-magnetically treated water has slightly different properties than north pole-magnetically treated water. A patent has been issued for this discovery, but I can't remember the specific one. It was an article in an old NEXUS magazine. Also consider the following post/article:

The above mentioned article, entitled: "Radiation Ovens - The Proven Dangers of Microwaves", mentions the following:

"Every microwave oven contains a magnetron, a tube in which electrons are affected by magnetic and electric fields in such a way as to produce micro wavelength radiation at about 2450 Mega Hertz (MHz) or 2.45 Giga Hertz (GHz). This microwave radiation interacts with the molecules in food. All wave energy changes polarity from positive to negative with each cycle of the wave. In microwaves, these polarity changes happen millions of times every second. Food molecules -- especially the molecules of water -- have a positive and negative end in the same way a magnet has a north and south polarity."
"In commercial models, the oven has a power input of about 1000 watts of alternating current. As these microwaves generated from the megnetron bombard the food, they cause the polar molecules to rotate at the same frequency millions of times a second. "By comparison, microwaves from the sun are based on principles of pulsed direct current (DC) that don't create frictional heat; microwave ovens use alternating current (AC) creating frictional heat."

Many people talk about the negative effects of Alternating Current, as opposed to Direct Current. An incandescent bulb filament lasts alot longer time with DC, than AC. The constant "oscillations" of AC break down the molecular structure of the filament, causing material "fatiguing", than a catastrophic break. Is it the AC component of the generated microwaves that cause the main problems? DC microwaves do not create frictional heat and would not work as an oven energy to heat up food and/or water.

One of the first books that I bought and read about the health effects of EMF energies was a fine English publication:

My point is, do microwaves effect hyper-space-time? Modified radar transmitters supposedly produce SCALER ELECTROMAGNETIC beams (LONGITUDAL WAVES or "TESLA" WAVES), which effect hyper-space-time. "fat tony" mentioned "new physics" explanations for the effects of microwaves on water, food and us. Hyper-dimensional physics? You must think in more than three-dimensions, and it ain't easy!!!

These were my conventional and unconventional explanations to the effects of microwaves on water, food and us. You could always wrap yourself up in aluminum foil and look like a big dork, even though it's not stupid to protect yourself from the harmful effects of given radiations.

Well most of that was a little bizarre. Its a question of intensity certainly intenense microwaves from a magnetron could (infact would) probably do significant damage to the body any electrical signals created would be irrelevant. Whether such high frequency signals will be supported by the human body I dont know also whether they'd interefere with the far lower frequency signals being used by the body again no idea this is prolly more Ellis' field. But with mobile phones in particular I believe that the microwave flux from the sun is till greater than the phone.

In short I would not stick my head in a microwave oven (words to live by) but i dont think it will stop we using a phone but hey now ive said that it'll prolly turn out to be worse than smoking.

Well glass doesnt attenuate microwaves, or at lest not that strongly. A microwave is a very powerful microwave source. So essentially if you take the grid off you will get burnt, quickly.

If you had a seriously leaky door seal, it might be possible. I would think that you would feel a burning sensation and get away before any serious damage was done, though.

High levels of microwave RF radiation can cause damage to the eyes (cataracts) and the testes (sterility). These hazards are well-known to people who work around radar transmitters or satellite uplink dishes.

 

That's fact. I have spent the last 23 years as a radar and microwave radio technician. I was worried about the safety parameters the navy had when I was a young technician and was working aloft on a ship. We would turn off all the radar and comm gear of the antennas we would climb by. An air search radar on a different mast a hundred feet or so away was deemed to be safe to have in operation. Every time this radar antenna would sweep by I could feel the fillings in my teeth arch. I looked in my mates mouth and could actually see the arch between a couple of fillings. ANyway after that two years of arching teeth and the next twenty years of being in the presence of microwaves transmitters I still see fine (OK fine I had to get reading glasses this year), and I have had no trouble conceiving childern, so I think the hazards are minimal.

 

I have heard that the sterility effect is only temporary, in that the RF heating kills any sperm that are currently stored in the body, but doesn't damage the testes themselves. An ex-USAF electronics instructor I once had told stories of airmen who would intentionally stand in front of a feedhorn for a while before going on a weekend leave to see their girlfriends or whatever.

 

No wonder the cat spontaneously combusted the other week, I thought that grid was dirt and I scrubbed it off the glass

I remember getting our first microwave, and the kids convinsing me you had to cook an egg first thing....holly crap the noice! The mess! But we did all fall in a heap laughing ...doing it again now, laughing that is, lol
