Jozak, rich people aren't the only ones investing. My family is considered to be lower middle class and I personally am considered working poor. Yay me! However, I have been reading the NYSE since I was 8 and I've been investing since I was 12. The first company I invested in was Wrigley's bought it for .16 per share. Yay me! On to Walmart, whoever said that the small companies can't keep up with Walmart, ummm duh. Damn right I'm "down with Walmart" (I know you were not talking to me but rather Mui), I still don't see how that has anything to do with minimum wage. The small companies still pay their employees min. wage, yet they aren't eating up all of the other companies. What Walmart pays employees and them putting small companies out of business have nothing to do with each other from what I can tell. Even if they paid their employess $5.00 more per hour, they would still put companies out of business. Two separate issues babe. We should get rid of Walmart and raise minimum wage. Only problem with that is Walmart employs a whole hell of a lot of people. Then we'd have to employ them elsewhere. Not sure how to go about that whole thing. They should just make housing more affordable for the time being until we can figure this out. We are all smart enough to come to a conclusion. hehehe
lets forget about the outsourced companies that walmart buys from... and the child labor their "items" had... that you get for sooo much cheaper (lol) ... damn fascists.
I hear this crap about raising minimum wages being bad for the economy all the time, yet each time minimum wage has been raised in the past, it actually boosted the economy! I'm a small business owner and I would love to see it raised to at least $7.25 an hour. When working class earn more money, they spend it right here in the US. It's real simple- the profit from business is a pie. Everyone wants a slice and the ones at the top of the food chain are gonna always try to get as big a slice as they can, leaving the ones at the bottom with smallest slices possible. And what do the rich do with their slice? Yes, they do invest and start more businesses to create more jobs, but they also spend a great deal of it out of the country. Aside from overseas investments, they spend a great deal of money traveling out of the country. The lower working class is going to spend ALL of that extra cash right here, in the US. Some of it in my store. There always has been and always will be struggle between the classes. And the advantage always goes to the rich, until every so often when the poor rise up and knock them down. Minimum wage and work standard laws help to create a bit of balance. It not only protects the working class but makes the future of the wealthy more secure. Nations without fair wage and work standards have excessive poverty. And tend to have unstable governments. Minimum wage in the US, has been eroding for years, not keeping up with inflation. You could buy twice as much with minimum wage in the mid '60's, compared to today.
listen everyone... the answer is simple but will NEVER HAPPEN (at least not in our life-time!!)- tax the fuck outta the rich and hardly tax the poor and increase their wages a bit. it would be great... but unlikely considering the way, at least THIS country is run....

This is a perfect example of greed in America. People so worried about their money that they turn their back on their society. No one is going to tax the rich until they are poor. People will still strive to make money as well. Living in the world isn't all about money.
it's why i'm a fan of the flat tax concept. i think it's pretty much morally wrong to take someone else's money to suit my needs. it's stealing. i can't be with that. but if you have the flat tax, at least there will be a percentage of everyone's income that will be paid in. the less you make, the less you pay.
Why is it that people always say that as a justification for taking your money? i.e. "Its not about money, so give me your money."
Those with lower incomes would not be taking anyone's money...the money goes to the government to fund schools, military, social programs, everything in the budget. Why is it you always argue like the lower classes are actually recieveing that money in their pocket?

Alls I know is that we had to go to the food bank this month cause we have no money. And, we're so tight right now cause it's gettin to be back to school time. Dad's think of gettin a second job, cause his teacher's salary ain't worth shit.
word, man... just met this girl... she had a broken knee and wrist... no health insurance... therefore couldnt get it fixed at all... didnt even have it wrapped up or anything... than it snapped later on that night and she was crying in pain... so much drama went on... people drove a long ways away to get her some vicodin for the pain... no way she can really afford health insurance either... i mean shes like 19, her father raped her... her mom died... shes got like no one to run to... people are so used to having parents that can fork over money when they need it, not like that for everyone really.. the whole fucking system makes me sick... when being healthy isnt considered a "right" and only for the rich... thats when you know we have problems..
